May. 15th, 2007 06:32 amDad got the wall replaced with some cabinets two days ago, so he, Mom, and Marie were able to go back in their rooms that night.
I had my Math Final yesterday, so now all that's left of this semester is graduation rehearsal tomorrow, and then the actual graduation ceremony on Sunday.
While I was at school, I picked up a college newspaper with the front cover article titled Reading, 'Riting, & Revenge. Said article spoke of teachers using Child Protective Services as a tool to get back at parents who do something they object to. When Mom came to pick me up, I spoke to her about it, and she said that it might be biased.
During the way home, Mom was going to McDonald's to pick up two cheeseburgers for Marie, and I asked her why she couldn't make hamburgers at home. She said she didn't have any chopmeat to make burgers with. Besides which, it was right next to the bank, where I had to go anyway to drop off my paycheck and almost the total $76.50 I claimed by selling my Math and Education Psychology textbooks back.
I brought up the topic of the CPS and revenge again at dinner, and to sum up what Dad said in response to it, the person who wrote it was probably some guy with a gripe about something. The article never said anything about the price that teachers pay for making false accusations, and in fact, it even said that most of them leave anonymous calls to CPS in order to avoid being prosecuted for libel and slander. However, Dad said that the people at CPS know exactly what to look for, and if they see any particular pattern of false accusations, action is taken to break it and penalize the harrasser.
Last night was the series finale of The King of Queens, and I watched the second half of that episode with Mom and Dad. Mainly, it was about Doug bringing his mother to a poker game so that she could play for him; he pretended to start vomiting, but in truth, his mother was an expert at the game, and he wanted her to win some money for him. As for Carrie...well, she was at some company board meeting, but I wasn't there for the first half of the episode, so I'm not sure what was going on with her.
Right after that episode was the season finale for Everybody Hates Chris. Mom asked me to go into her email and take some survey about gaming when the episode was over, and I decided to go take it right away. Unfortunately, the survey was already closed, but then again, the prize was only $6. Better luck for us next time.
