Dad had to go to the hospital yesterday for an operation, and Dr. Perret wanted to see me around the same time for a special appointment. For 36 hours until his operation, Dad wasn't able to eat anything solid.

The reason Dr. Perret set up an appointment was because I had already brought up that whole issue about Dowling two sessions in a row, and he wanted to see if I had come to terms about it since last session. I told him that I had not brought the subject up with Mom since my last session with him.

While I was there several other topics were brought up. One was about bullying among kids and how condoning it goes completely against the preamble of the United States Constitution (i.e. rights to life, liberty, and security of person), which is why it should never have been tolerated in the first place. He told me that people going even as far back as the Middle Ages thought that "boys will be boys", but as time went on and thinking evolved, people have started to realize that such is not an adequate excuse.

And then, here's a quote from something I read a few days ago:

It is akin to the Scarecrow coming to Glinda the Good Witch at the end of The Wizard of Oz and asking her, "WHY didn't you just tell Dorothy to click her heels before she had to go through all this?" "She wouldn't have believed me!" says Glinda. Translation: "If it had been that simple, we couldn't have had a movie!"

In short, one of the lamest excuses to withhold information for the sake of a story's plot. But, nevermind that, teaching viewers that whatever they desire, they had all along? That's not true at all, ever!

To clear that all up, though, the real moral is that the most important asset to have in order to achieve something is one's own willpower. One has to find courage, wisdom, or love within himself, rather than seeking it out from some "special" person.

There was also another topic I would've liked to bring up with him, regarding women's hair when it's piled on top of the head, but I would have preferred to have some pics to show him when I bring it up. A list of all examples would likely require a separate entry, but I will do as little as possible to sexualize the topic (especially since someone from Princess Tutu will be mentioned in it. Also gonna hope for some input by Jake or Chelle, although the former already told me he won't be free until Monday).

(Of course, if I were to actually bring it up with Dr. Perret, he'd probably tell me again, that fetishes are by definition irrational. Jake, Chelle, either of you got any insight on the topic?)

So anyway, Mom drove me back to the hospital after my session was over. She had me wheel Dad out of the hospital on a wheelchair, until we got to the car (after which he was able to walk on his own). He told me on the way out that he felt like the procedure just went by, rather than him just feeling asleep. I told him and Mom that that's what it felt like when I got my wisdom teeth removed in 2004, like they supposedly put me to sleep, and then time just skipped whatever length I had been asleep and cut right to me waking back up. I didn't even dream or see blackness.

(I guess that means eternal boredom is one less reason to worry about death. I mean, isn't that also a state of unconsciousness.)
