Yesterday, someone came to fix the oil burner.
Around that time, I decided to tinsel the tree with Brian, Marie, and Scott. While we were putting the tinsel on, Scott looked on his MP3 list for something festive to play. Someone then suggested that I play Twisted Christmas on our stereo. At first, I forgot that we even had a (burned) copy of the CD, but then I set it up to play The Twelve Pains of Christmas (the first track on it). It only took us each the length of that song to use up our box of tinsel. I then turned the stereo off and told Scott what it was in case he was interested. He then suggested that I try out Twisted Sisters' Twisted Christmas, and we listened to one of their songs, but it turns out that they don't spoof anything lyrically.
Scott had to go home shortly after we finished putting the tinsel on the tree.
Last night, Mom took Brian on his first visit to Dr. Perret's office. He didn't actually visit Dr. Perret himself, but he did meet his wife.
While Mom and Brian went there, Mom dropped me and Marie off at Target to pick up some more Christmas gifts. I got something for Mom, and then went to the games section to pick up something thing for the whole family (originally Mom's suggestion). I then looked around at the rest of the games available.
Whenever I watched the game commercials each time visiting Target, I used to imagine a fourth Makeruna! Makendou game being one of those games with even better 3D graphics than anything I've played on the Playstation 2. Now I know that Project Mai on any console at all, let alone an up-to-date home console, is hardly a possibility. So, instead of thinking "Man, if only Mai and her friends appeared like that", I'm back to thinking "Hardly any anime games? Man, fuck that!" (See Rant #10.) Whatever happened to games like Threads of Fate, Grandia II, Evolution Worlds, Star Ocean: Till the End of time, Tales of Symphonia, Wild Arms, and Dark Cloud? Even though half of them didn't make it to America, those that did used to take up half the space in any GamePro or Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine.
Okay, so there are some anime games available there, but the Nintendo DS already has enough of them. I have no interest in Dragon Ball Z or Naruto games. Some might consider Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess to be anime games, but those two are already overly famous. The only other anime game I saw there that wasn't those (or the Mega Man game for the--handheld--PlayStation Portable) was We Cheer. Well, I gotta admit that the girls on that game are pretty hot, wearing skimpy cheerleading outfits, but that game is part of the same line of games as We Ski, which I ranted about last summer.
For now, fuck the Wii, fuck the Playstation 3, and fuck the Xbox 360 until I see more anime games than just We Ski, We Cheer, Blue Dragon, and this new Tales of Symphonia game! My next console is gonna be...the PC-FX, which was released around the same time as the Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn, and the original Playstation, only released in Japan, and discontinued after only three years after release. Translating Makeruna! Makendou Z is important for several things, but until I do get the PC-FX, my main concern is developing the plot to the Pokemon ficseries. For an actual game, I'm still fucking it out with Pokemon Ruby, and going to play other Pokemon games after that.
Mom eventually picked me and Marie up from Target, and brought us to the library. I looked at MAD Magazine's 20 Dumbest People, Events, and Things of 2007 while we were there. Mom and Marie took out a whole bunch of DVDs, and used my library card to take them out. When we got home, I went to bed, but everyone else watched an episode of The Tracey Ulman Show.
