dmxratedThat monitor came two days ago. I got around to putting it together yesterday afternoon, and it actually came with a dual DisplayPort cable, allowing it to connect with that spare computer.
Somehow, the monitor failed to actually detect anything, and Mom and I looked aroudn for a dual HDMI cable that she thought she still had from our old printer that she got rid of years ago. Nowhere to be found.
Mom ordered a new cable in the evening, to pick up at BestBuy, through some account of Dad's. We headed there after dinner, but I was told first that I needed the matching ID for the person I met to scan. Got that from Mom, who awaited me in the parking lot, but then the clerk told me that he needed to be there in person. Called Mom to come in, and we wound up waiting behind a new line that had formed.
At her suggestion, I went over to find a cable just to purchase. Brought over an 8-footer, but she asked me if there were no 6-footers. I showed her where I got it, and we wound up back at the customer desk to sort things out, with her specifying to the person she spoke to that Dad was "bedridden" and could not show up.
With her permission, I hopped over to Cold Stone for dessert, and got myself a cup of Reese's Peanut Butter Awesome Sauce (actually meant to get the Peanut Butter Ice Cream Cup that was displayed on the wall).
From what Mom told me in the car, she was able to cancel the order and just buy the 6-footer normally.

Got around this morning to hooking it up, and remembered upon checking the computer that that one does not have an HDMI port. Had to hook it up to my laptop instead, and I have asked Brian and Drew on Signal if that computer simply isn't compatible with my new monitor.
