May. 7th, 2025 06:23 amHad the whole morning to myself before work yesterday, and got around to testing Loc's work in Unity itself. The buttons there are all blank, and I drop him a line asking how to fix that.
I pull Unity up on both my laptop and the upstairs computer, and all the button icons are in place, but while I was able to reload the game's data on my downstairs desktop after finding the hub empty, I had no such luck after several tries on the other two computers. I ask Loc how to restore everything as a new project, before using what time I have left before my bus comes to see what I did differently on my main computer.
Shortly after arriving at the store, around half an hour before I actually clock in, Loc gets back to me recounting that I had the first problem before, to which he instructs me to upgrade my GPU to support dx11. (He did provide me with a video later on how to properly load the game as a new project, but I still have yet to view that.)
Shortly into my shift, I ask Brian and Drew on a chat called "Bros" if either of them could upgrade my computer as such. Some discussion with them and Mom led to a suggestion that we simply swap the two desktops around. I specified that the reason I have the one Brian and Drew had built upstairs where I don't use it as much is because that was the only one out of all three computers that would run Rosalie's Mupen GUI Portable, the emulator I had previously found to run Getter Love!! accurately on my previous homemade PC before I had to scrap that one.
I decided right afterwards, though, that maybe it would be feasible to bring that one downstairs, and just bring it back up temporarily whenever I actually do get around to playing Getter Love!!
(Before I do that, though, I would still like to get back to recording my Earthbound side-hack, while I still have my homemade PC with all preexisting savestates and recordings on it somewhere more conducive to gaming than somewhere with barely any space for a couch behind my chair. It's also a good thing that inferior PC was the one to get a virus and require a Windows reboot not too long ago.)
