Dec. 19th, 2007 07:08 amYesterday, Mom had to leave work mid-morning to pick Marie up, because Marie didn't get over the death of her rat. She even called me and asked for Mom, but I told her that she wasn't home.
When Mom and Marie came home, we had a small funeral for the rat. I dug a small hole in the same spot where we buried Lucy, and then when we all went into the basement, Mom and Marie covered the rat with some old sock rags while he was "sleeping" in the empty lightbulb box. We went outside and buried it, and marked it with a gold acorn that fell off of the wreath on the front door.
All of yesterday, I had continued to work on the pic, which is of Hikari changing Baby Mario. I eventually chatted with Martin, and brought it up while we were talking. It turned out that we agreed that he would design Hikari as she appeared on the original Makeruna Makendou box art (or in the original game), while I would work on her as she appeared on the cover of Makeruna Makendou Z. I already completed most of my version of the pic, and shared a copy of it with him, and now all that's left is to refine it before I post it onto DeviantArt.
I also got a Christmas card from Ms. Bandows, whom I haven't been in contact with for years. I wrote a card back in response, also providing an index card with the URL to this blog with it, and put it in someone's mailbox that the mailman didn't get to yet. After all, it would always be nice if I could get one more person reading this blog, however possible.
While Mom and Dad were both at work, Grandma Ella was watching TV, and I just sat down on the armchair during one of my breaks from the pic. During a commercial, there was some anti-male-bashing commercial for some kind of cable (I think it's called something like "Optimum IO," but I can't remember), in which the wife comes home from work, and the husband tells her that he cleaned the house up, helped the kids with their homework, made dinner, and something else I can't remember offhand. I later on told Mom and Dad about it while they and Grandma were all in the kitchen talking.
Right when we started eating dinner last night, Mom took a jar of heated-up cherry jam out of the microwave, and accidentally dropped it. It made more than a bit of a mess, and Marie commented that it looked like a murder scene.
While we were eating dinner, I asked everyone how I'd be able to protect content that I keep on this blog, such as if I wanted to write the summaries for each fic in Monster Collection Chronicles but didn't want anyone to post it anywhere else without my permission. An existing example of this lies with JudasFM, the author of that untitled Sonic the Hedgehog ficseries that I like (which starts with Secrets of the Emeralds). These were her words, not mine:
I would just like to reiterate once and for all that:
A) The ONLY name I will EVER post my fanfics under in a forum is JudasFm
B) The ONLY forums/sites which have permission to host my fanfics are Fanfiction.net, Knuckleschaotix.net and The J Universe.
C) Linking A and B, if you find ANY of my stories on ANY other site (no matter what name they're under) they have been STOLEN.
Dad answered that to protect your works from being stolen on the internet is impossible. For one thing, technically, you can't place a copyright on fanfiction, but even if you could, it would still be your word against theirs. He's probably right, because the same author who wrote the above lines acknowledged that two people did plagiarize her works, and the webmasters refuse to do anything about it. Still, unorthodox_du (Jake's name on livejournal.com) posted some very brief summaries of a Mega Man ficseries he has plans for, but when he asked me for some ideas, I was unable to provide any because the information was insufficient. Also, if I feel the need to refer to my own ficseries... well, at least providing details for individual characters won't be such a problem, but by writing the summaries the way you see them archived on ff.net, key points would be missed. Here's the first fic I plan to write, for example:
Book Two: Parallel Conflicts
Redda wasn't the greatest evil to exist in Mon World, only the first to begin a full-scale war throughout Mon World. From here on, Mondo and Rockna must now undergo integration with a group of fellow humans, who will still see them as the true Mon Colle Knights.
Okay, so that summary does cover two important point in the respective fic, which are of the wars that will ensue throughout Mon World, and of the (twenty-two) other Knights who will actively train with, travel with, and fight alongside Mondo and Rockna. However, it doesn't cover the role of the six gods of Mon World (Ceng, Sedra, Bhenq, Ivedi, Gasejo, and Warp), the last of which the evil armies (and Redda before them) are trying to avenge. (Warp is not dead; he's been under quarantine and only due for reacceptance after being completely rid of the essence of a false destructive goddess named Pfizgiy.) Nor does it cover the conflict between Rockna's non-canon brother Katsuo (please ask for details) and the rest of the Mon Colle Knights, which is symbolic of the aforementioned Evil Realm vs Mon World conflict.
Other points not covered:
-Beginner and Luke will also be recruited into the team of Knights during the beginning of the fic. They, along with Katsuo and myself (i.e. Eric Ledger) will form a subgroup known as the Quadrant Knights. The remaining eighteen will be known as the Supporting Knights.
-There are actually not six, but twenty Monster Items throughout Mon World. The general population of Mon World think that there are six, but the Gods kept the true number a secret, so as to prevent anything much worse from happening than what did happen when Redda got the total six that the Knights and Prince Eccentro already had towards the end of the anime.
-As well as being able to summon Monsters, the Mon Colle Knights will also be able to use their own magic powers to do battle with. Each will have one of twenty-four elements (eighteen of them being sub-elements of the primary ones), which are amplified (not granted) by the respective Monster Item (if an Item even does exist for that element). Each of the Monster Items can also be converted into a magical weapon for this purpose, as well as to fight physically with.
There is a reason why I wrote on my fanfiction.net profile, do not request copies of Monster Collection Chronicles (which when I wrote it, was just summaries of earlier versions of each fic). The reason is that I don't want someone posting it anywhere just to spite me and spoil the ficseries. I will only provide summary copies to those whom I'm close friends with, which include Jake, Martin, Adalia Glenys, and Monica/Fallen Pheniox. (Actually, I haven't spoken to Monica in a long time, but I already did send her summary copies, and she has never posted them on Fanfiction.net or anywhere else that I know of.)
