Yesterday, Grandma Ella came over, and we went over to the Pita House (a Turkish restaurant) for dinner. We planned this since last week because Dad is friends with a Turkish man who runs a gas station down the street where he works, and he even told us all about him. I ordered a Mediterranean burger, but before the main courses came, I ate most of the pitas that were served as an appetizer. Most of the music was rather lame, consisting mainly of violins, but one song featured an electric guitar and lyrics, and another song resembled something by the B52's (the song that Peter sung on Family Guy episode The Cleveland-Loretta-Quagmire).

Last night's episode of Family Guy was titled Deep Throats, and was the first time in months that I watched an episode of FG. Half of that episode was about a talent show that Peter and Lois recited for (all the while smoking pot and thinking that it was helping them). Instead of summarizing the entire episode, I'm just gonna go straight to a point I'd like to make. Look up TV.com if you'd like an episode summary.

Some of you, if not most, have probably noticed that any time some kind of contest such as a talent show or a lip sync takes place, the author arranges it so that the most dramatic performance takes place last. The same holds true for for Chapter 25 of Sgt Frog (A Horror Showdown), in which Fuyuki, Natsumi, Momoko, Keroro, Tamama, and Moa have compete to tell the scariest story they can think upRead more... ). Anyone notice a formula? It is quite understandable why the author always sets it up this way, but it rarely works that way in real life because unlike, for instance, a chorus concert, contests are run by many people. For those of you fanfiction writers who either would like something more realistic or would like to surprise your audience, then feel free to reject the "rule" in question. I certainly would.

And of course, if a talent show were to take place anytime soon, I'd participate...that is, if I knew how to record Sonic Can Do Anything without recording the lyrics.
