Our microwave has been broken for the past week, and Dad told me that we might need to replace it.

Yesterday morning, I spent part of my time cleaning ants out of the bathroom cupboard, starting with a can of raid. Dad came in, and asked me what I was using. He told me that Raid is poisonous and won't make them go away; the trick is to use either Windex or a sponge. (Cleaning the cupboard became Marie's duty later on, and she had to throw away the coughdrops, where most of the ants were.)

During Advanced Writing, we were discussing the 9/11/01 attacks and how it impacted each of our individual lives. Towards the end of class, Professor Caulfield played this song by Immortal Technique, called Bin Laden. It states that President Bush is the one behind the 9/11 attacks, and the chorus plays as follows:

Bin Laden didn't blow up the projects;
It was you, nigga; tell the truth, nigga!
Bush knocked down the towers!
It was you, devil; Bush knocked down the towers!

Yesterday was my first day at workstudy. I spent the whole time shredding papers, and half the time, I put multiple papers at a time into the shredder when I got bored with just one sheet at a time. I spent fifteen minutes of my work hours walking to the Babylon Student Center to claim my time card, and then coming back. After it was over, I was exhausted when I got home, and spent no more than half an hour playing Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. I was able to finish modifying some report for Psychology, though.

While I was at home, Dad ripped his fingernail almost off when it started raining. He slipped and grabbed at the ladder, and that's how it happened. Mom did treat him, but his nail is going to fall off. He did tell me that usually, a new nail grows in it's place. I told my parents that when I finish college and get a job, I'm going to remain where I currently live in case anything like this happens; that way, if I break a leg and can't get to the phone, someone else will be able to call 911. Mom told me that this is why she stresses the importance of friendship, but then again, if you don't have anyone living in the same house as you, it won't do any good.

Jake, I read your blog, and you mentioned that AIM was deleted from your computer. Don't you think you could redownload it at AIM.com? I'm currently away from my inbox, but if I need to, I will email you when I get home.
