Jan. 23rd, 2007 05:59 amYesterday morning, I asked Mom if my sense of smell might have been damaged from working at McDonald's for over a year. I told her that, for the most part, I can only smell things directly, not from even a few feet away. She gave me a few things to sniff (e.g. hairspray), and even asked me to smell my dinner before I started eating it. It was confirmed, but she told me that some people are born that way. Part of what brings it up is the fact that Uncle Ray is deaf, which ties in with the noise from both being in the Vietnam War and working in a noisy engine room on a cargo ship. She told me that I should also understand that he didn't take very good care of his hearing (by not putting earplugs into his ears) because he never thought that it would deteriorate.
Another day went by yesterday, and the only person I was able to chat with was Peter, who was only on AIM for one minute. I did give Brett a call for the first time in a year, but he didn't return it. I'm not sure what I want to play or read as of right now. Mon Colle Knight is the only game particularly relevant to my fanfic series, but I don't feel like going through the trouble of translating all the Japanese. It can wait until the weekend, when I have a whole day to myself.
