Jun. 17th, 2007 07:14 amYesterday, Mom took me and Marie shopping for Father's Day. First, we went to West Marine to buy a gift (a crablight, which me and Marie chipped in for). Then, we went to Eckerd's, which was in the same parking lot. I don't remember what Marie got for Dad, but I got a Garfield card saying on the front, "To a great DAD who can make just about anything work", and inside, "except me." The front depicts Garfield holding a hammer, and the inside depicts him lying on the hammock with the hammer leaning on a tree. It really is true: Dad spends most of his daylight hours keeping the house from falling apart (such as replacing the doors, which he's doing now, or putting new shingles on the roof, which he did a year ago); most of the chores I do are only done when I'm told to do something, and I spend most of my free time playing video games instead of doing anything productive.
While we were at Eckerd's, I noticed a pair of yellow Hostess cupcakes on the snack rack, and decided to get them to eat at the bowling alley on Monday. I only had four singles, though, so Mom had to pay for them, get five singles in return for a ten, and give me those singles for Monday.
Next stop: Marshall's. I can't remember what Mom and Marie got, but upon paying for the stuff, I noticed a chocolate hi-heel and purse on the snack shelf. It looked rather appetizing, and I asked Mom if she would ever get it for me. She told me that she wouldn't get it there in particular, because Marshall's buys stuff from other stores who can't sell certain things, and it's probably been sitting there for who knows how long. I told her that what really looked appetizing was the different colors that were on it, but she said that it was just food coloring. A giant Hershey bar...nah, doesn't quite appeal so much to me.
Finally, Marie had to be dropped off at Scott's house, before me and Mom went home.
While I was mowing the lawn, Mom and Dad went to the boatyard to put the sail on the catboat. I continued mowing the lawn, before continuing to play Pokemon Sapphire.
