Jun. 28th, 2007 06:55 amMom and Marie went down to North Carolina last Tuesday to visit Grandma Ella, so I've been here with just Dad for the past several days. The two of them are due to return home tomorrow night.
The past Tuesday was also my first day of driving classes. For the driving portion, I'm in Car #15 with three other boys. Two of them are named John and Joe, and I can't remember what the third boy's name is. My driving instructor is an elderly lady named Elke (pronounced Ell-kuh), and she talks with some kind of European accent that I don't recognize. As of last Tuesday, we drove through Yaphank and Patchogue, before coming back to the campus. We passed the Longwood Public Library and Yaphank Lake, and even saw some Canadian geese while passing the lake.
As for the classroom portion...I'm scheduled to go to the 11:30 class, but mistakenly went to the 8:30 class since it was right after the driving portion. Mr. Kramer marked it down as an attendance nonetheless, but from now on, I know when to go where.
As of today, I don't need to go to the driving portion, because Elke has some kind of emergency at home that she needs to take care of. This means I still have four hours left to remain home (since Dad's working on the doorframes instead of going to the shop), but it also means I have to make up an hour and a half worth of driving when the semester ends.
