Yesterday in Psychology, we discussed Kohlberg's six stages of moral development. While discussing the sixth stage, Dr. Thornton mentioned some boy who got tazered for questioning someone passed his allotted time, as well as other leaders of demonstrations. I mentioned that Darfur demonstration that Marie and Scott went to the other day, and he asked me whether Marie was an organizer or just a participant. I told him that she's in Amnesty Club, which means she's the former. (I did mention this later, when my family and I were eating dinner.)

Last night, around 1 a.m., I had a hard time sleeping because of a minor conflict between me and yesterday's returning-home busdriver. What happened was that I told him that I'm fully capable of crossing the street, especially since our mailbox is on the opposite side of Long Island Avenue as our house, but he said that the law says he's required to drop me off at the side where my house is. (I didn't argue with him, but didn't thank him for his service either, which I usually do.) I was considering talking to Mom the next morning about whether or not I could stop using the bus system, but I didn't want to wake her and Dad up. Instead, I woke up to play Dark Cloud for a bit to get my mind off of it, but not without first walking into the computer room to check my email. Dad, coincidentally, was also awake during the dead of the night, looking around on the Woodenboat forum, and I didn't bother waiting for him to come off. I spent a little more than an hour killing all the enemies on the 18th floor (except for one Arthur), and it was nice and relaxing despite how annoying the enemies can get whenever they're in groups.

I spoke to Mom this morning about the reason I woke up to play my game, and also about what happened with the busdriver yesterday. Mom told me that if I fell or got hit by a car, the driver would be in big trouble. He'd be asked "Why was your client injured/killed?" (Also, right when I started playing the game last night, it occurred to me that switching to one-way trips would only be a lose-lose situation, because I'd be spending more money for gas than I spend as bus fare, which would in turn contribute to global warming. Also, Mom would be forced to come pick me up from school which would mean I'd have to wait longer for her to arrive since she can't leave work until a certain time. And so on and so forth...)
