Yesterday was Mother's Day. Not much to say about it this year, just our usual day when Dad buys some plants for us to present to Mom. However, before we started eating dinner, Mary Poppins was being aired on one of the movie channels, and Marie was watching it. Mom was also listening to it, and started watching it after we ate dinner. I was busy playing Dark Cloud 2, and Dad, apparently, doesn't care too much about that movie. I did join Mom right at the scene where Mary and her family march across the rooftops and some group of chimney-sweep men do this rather long dance on top of the buildings. Ironically, that's exactly when Marie stopped watching the movie so she could talk to her friends on AIM.

Oh, and about Dark Cloud 2... I've already gotten to the point where I can play Spheda. Damn, it's hard!!! I spent at least several hours trying to get ten wins so I can recruit Mena, and I've only managed to get four so far. But on the plus side, I did get a Dark Coin (with which to recruit Donny, along with an Indestructible Coin that I've been keeping) while I was at it, and that was enough to warrant saving the game even though I lost the Spheda round that time.

Speaking of coins, the Tailor Shop in Sindain's future only has the two coins (Dark and Indestructible) which you need for recruiting Donny, along with Gold Paint which is the key to recruiting Parn. For some reason though, once you recruit Donny, the shop in question no longer has even those two coins for sale, even though it still has the Gold Paint even after you recruit Parn. What's with that? Also, only Max is able to go fishing or play Spheda, and Monica has no such equivalents. Okay, I can accept the fact that she can't fish, but if you give up playing Spheda at Barga's Valley, she's the one to show you how the game is played. How fair is that, along with the fact that her equivalent to Max's Ridepod (i.e. monster transformations) suck balls? It's a different story in the original Dark Cloud, where there are six playable characters, and you can only control Toan when in the overworld. But in this game, there are only two main characters, and you can control either of them in both the overworld and in dungeons. What a sexist game! Still a really damn good game, though!
