Jun. 6th, 2008 08:10 amYesterday, I was looking online to see how many volumes are in the Contemporary Japanese textbook series. It turns out that it's only two volumes long, but I also found out about several textbooks that might be aimed more towards my own goals. One of them is called Japanese in Mangaland, and Mom took me to Borders last night to buy the first volume.
From what I've read on the description on Netflix, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was a five-disk series, with the fifth disk being a "bonus disk". However, when I opened the envelope for the fourth disk, I wasn't able to set the language to English, so I resorted instead to just watching episode 11 on YouTube. That, of course, defeats the purpose of renting DVDs from Netflix, so I later opened up the fifth disk envelope, and it had the same stuff, but with the option to hear it in English as well as in Japanese. Okay, that's kind of a waste. Why make two disks containing the same material if one of them is Japanese-only? I thought the fifth disk is supposed to contain easter eggs.
Right now, I'm feeling burnt out. I've kept promising myself each day that I would write at least one entry to Chronicles of 7th Grade, and I couldn't bring myself to it. Yesterday, Jake also asked me through an email if I was too busy to work on anything he requested, and I told him I'd start something "most likely today", but I couldn't bring myself to do that either. All I've been able to do, even on days when I have minimal chores, was to continue reading the textbook I was previously using and write stuff down from Makeruna! Makendou Z. Maybe I'll continue with Co7G next Wednesday, and hopefully, I'll have the personalities for four male characters in Jake's Mon Colle Knights fic ready before then.
