I should've mentioned that Mom got my room straightened up last Wednesday, although one of the curtains is still missing. The room still is slightly chilly, but not nearly as cold as when she first took it apart.

Mom and Dad left home yesterday morning to pick up Brian and Marie. I shoveled snow off the front steps and several other places, but spent most of the day playing Pokemon FireRed. I also watched the entire first DVD volume of this anime called Hare + Guu.

I went to bed by the time everyone came home. I slept in Marie's room for the last time because I was too tired to make my own bed. Marie slept on the futon, and Brian slept in his room after making his own bed.

Brian is still sleeping, but Marie is awake and watching an episode of this old cartoon (movie?) about Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and Dad's on the phone with Grandma (whom I spoke to first when she called). As for me, I just have to deliver the Sapphire to Celio and go after Deoxys and Mewtwo, make the record for Pokemon FireRed, and transfer the list of trainer quotes onto GameFAQs, and I'll be all set to finally start playing Ruby! (Yay! May will finally get her true adventure, after the fake Sapphire pak and the cancelled Emerald playthrough!)

Wow! It's the third consecutive year that I've beaten a Pokemon game only days before Christmas. Last year, I completed Pokemon LeafGreen just a few days before getting Pearl for Christmas. The year before, I beat Crystal in anticipation to Emerald (which I aborted about halfway through). This year, I just beat FireRed four days before Christmas, but I'm not awaiting any game in particular. Platinum isn't due here until March 22, and I already have Ruby and Emerald (and possibly Silver) to complete before starting that.

(Yeah, three years ago, I started and completed Pokemon Red within a few months, but its completion took place before even Thanksgiving. I was already playing Crystal when Christmas rolled around.)

Anyway, let's get started:

Game: FireRed
Player: Ash

Rattata: Captured at Route 3. Evolved into Raticate at Route 12.

Spearow: Captured at Route 3. Evolved into Fearow at Route 7, so that I could pick up the Amulet Coin from Professor Oak's aide.

Mankey: Captured on Route 22. After exiting Mt. Moon the first time, I went back to Pewter City to retrieve him, so that I could have one of the Move Tutors on Route 4 teach it Mega Kick.

Nidoran (male): Captured on Route 3. Later evolved into Nidorino (after learning Horn Attack at Level 20), and I immediately evolved it into Nidoking with a Moon Stone afterwards.

Geodude: Captured on Mt. Moon. Evolved into Graveler while I fought trainers on Route 7, so that I could get the Amulet Coin from one of Professor Oak's aids. Was taught TM 06 (Toxic) after I defeated Koga. Selected for the Trainer Tower.

Abra: Captured on Route 24. Can't remember where it evolved, but I did teach it HM Flash.

Oddish: Captured on Route 24. Was taught HM Cut. Evolved into Gloom inside the Rock Tunnel. Was selected to participate in the Trainer Tower.

Ekans: Captured at Route 11, and was taught TM46 (Thief), which I had to backtrack to Mt. Moon for.

Clefairy: Purchased at the Celadon Game Corner. I also bought TM 35 (Flamethrower) to teach it. Later on, I evolved it into Clefable while fighting Team Rocket at the Silph Co.

Eevee: I evolved this one into Vaporeon after picking it up at Celadon Mansion.

Cubone: Captured inside the Pokemon Tower. I backtracked into the Rock Tunnel to have someone teach it Rock Slide.

Snorlax: Captured on Route 7. Was taught HM Surf as soon as I got it, as had been the case in regular Red. Speaking of Red, this one also deserves credit for participation in the Elite Four battles, which it had also fought back on the 8-bit game as well.

Lapras: Picked up inside the Silph Co. Most people use Lapras to teach HM Surf to, but I taught it HM Strength instead. (Snorlax was already taught Surf.) Was later selected to participate in the Trainer Tower.

Nidorina: Captured at the Safari Zone. I evolved her into Nidoqueen immediately. Chosen for the Trainer Tower, and was taught HM Surf to access it.

Tentacool: Captured at Route 19. He was in my party when I picked up HM Waterfall at Icefall Cave, which is a coincidence seeing as he was the one selected to learn it.

Seel: Captured at Seafoam Island. Was taught TM 21 (Frustration).

Lugia: As a reward for having already completed LeafGreen, I used a GameShark to hack my way to Navel Rock (and later, to Birth Island). Ho-oh came first, but after I captured both birds on the island, I went back to Fuschia City and asked someone to teach it Substitute.

Hoppip: Captured at Water Labrynth. Evolved into Skiploom while I fought Rockets at the Rocket Warehouse.

Heracross: After capturing this one at Pattern Bush, I explored Indigo Plateau all over again to find the person who teaches Double Edge.

Deoxys: By the time I hacked my way onto Birth Island for this one, I had already cleared all seven Sevii Islands. I brought this Pokemon with me to learn Mega Punch on Route 4 before venturing into Cerulean Cave. Lass Crissy's battle outside the cave was the only battle it ever fought (before learning Mega Punch), and I put it back inside Bill's PC upon returning to the PokeCenter in Cerulean City. (Quite the coincidence that two of the three event-only Pokemon in this game were chosen by the dice to learn non-level moves, let alone that both of them were tutored moves instead of TMs)

Update on 6/25/10:

Aron: Traded from Ruby. Was taught TM 28 (Dig).

All I gotta do now is list all the Trainer quotes on GameFAQs, and then I'll be all set to begin Ruby.
