I was the first one up for Christmas yesterday, at around 5:30, but Marie asked me to let her sleep for another hour. For that hour, I just played Pokemon Ruby, and then got up again. She then woke up a few minutes later, but Mom and Dad said that they'd be up whenever Brian gets up, and vice versa.

We got all kinds of stuff for Christmas. My gifts to everyone were:

Mom: a glassware set (the last thing any of us opened)
Dad: a WoodenBoat calendar (Mom gave this to me to wrap)
Brian: that Barnes & Nobles gift card I got at work (I'm not likely to be using it before it expires.)
Marie: another cactus.

And for the family gift, I picked out this Nintendo DS game called Clubhouse Games. I'll discuss that more soon enough.

Anyway, as for me, I got volumes 2 and 3 of Japanese in Mangaland, and the first DVD volume of this anime called School Rumble, among other things. I didn't make a list; I just wanted this year's anime DVD to be a surprise. I also got an Xbox (not a 360, although I did get carried away when I said what it was), which was labeled to be from the family, but Brian said that he actually bought it from a friend of his. Wrapped separately (but with each other) were Castlevania: Curse of Darkness and Red Ninja: End of Honor. Dad also joked about having gotten a catboat racing game for that console...which would be one of the few video games he'd actually like if such a game even existed for any console.

About the Xbox )

Finally, Marie got me this pillow cushion the length of three bed pillows. She and Mom decided that it would make a good gift, since I tend to use the couch pillows to keep my dice from rolling down the side of my bed.

Moving on, Mom later suggested that I plug in the Xbox for Brian, even if I have no current intention to play either game for it. I got started, and then realized that the plug was missing. I told Brian, and he said that he was sure he got the plug, and that it was probably in the basement. (He later did find it, and I then suggested that he look at the sound on my TV, because I couldn't hear any when I downloaded Jirachi from my Pokemon Colessium bonus disk the other day, even when I cranked the sound way up.)

As for Clubhouse Games, Marie was the first one to play it. I later played one game of billiards and chess each on it. Dad doesn't like video games, though, and Brian has plenty of games to play on his laptop. However, Marie and Mom both like it, and Mom says that her favorite game on it is Mahjong. It was her idea that I pick up something on the Nintendo DS that the whole family would enjoy, and she assured me that I chose a good game for a family gift. (For the most part, I've been using my DS to play Pokemon Ruby, but it is a good thing I also still have my Game Boy Advance with which to play it.)

I got the rest of the firewood pile stacked by our house. Now all that's left is the bark and other debris. Marie, however, did nothing all day "because it's Christmas".

Not much went on for the rest of the day, except that when I went to bed, the rest of the family was watching some black-and-white movie set during one of the World Wars (I or II?). Scott also came over to sleep over, but I didn't notice because I was already in bed.
