Feb. 10th, 2009 06:06 amYesterday, I drove Mom to the post office, and dropped something off for her.
I then drove to GameStop to preorder Pokemon Platinum. I asked the clerk what the reward is for preordering, and he told me that I only get some kind of figure, nothing gameplay-related. I decided not to order, and spent the next few minutes looking around at games. Once again, the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 shelves had next to no anime games, the Wii shelf actually did have a few such titles here and there, but with the Nintendo DS shelf, I kept noticing one anime game after another as I casually looked around. Not that it matters anyway, because I'm gonna continue with my Makeruna! Makendou Z translation once I'm done with Pokemon Emerald, and I'm not even the kind of gamer that thinks "Ooh, I gotta try this one!"
This is exactly part of the reason why I aspire to start Retro Savior. I understand that there actually are quite a handful of anime games for the Wii, PS3, and 360 that didn't make it to America. When I get down to business, I'm gonna make a point of translating as many of these games as possible. Even Doki Doki Majo Shinpan will be no exception! The only games I won't bother seeking the rights to translate are those with gameplay so fucked up that they're basically unplayable.
