Brian got our computer fixed up two days ago, although he still does have to get our Internet connection hooked back up.

I downloaded Mother 2 yesterday... from ROMNation.net. Funny. That game became Earthbound upon its North American release; Earthbound is an ESA-protected ROM, but apparently, only the name matters when the ESA decides to protect ROMs.

Anyway, why did I download this game when I already own its U.S. equivalent, both legitimately and on a ROM? Actually, the fact that I already own Earthbound is part of the reason. When I finish my transcript of Makeruna! Makendou Z, I'm gonna play both versions of this game to see how each bit of dialogue (save anything that was outright changed) translates. Even though this will delay the actual translation of MaMaZ, it will make said translation easier in the long run. After all, one does have to walk before he can run.

And, yeah, I did mention in the parenthesis that some things were modified either on purpose or because they don't translate well. There is a website that lists the differences between Mother 2 and Earthbound, which I could look up in the case of anything that was changed.
