After quite a handful of playthroughs, I finally got the good ending in Panel de Pon just yesterday morning. This requires that you don't lose during the first eight levels (or as the main character in the remaining four), and the only character I lost was Elias (replaced by Froggy in "Tetris Attack").

Shortly afterwards, as I was having a walk out in the backyard, I noticed Brian digging up one of the clothesline posts, and he told me what I'm supposed to do when I get around to helping him. I figured I might as well have just gotten started then, and started digging up the other post. While I was at it, I tried hitting the post with a sledgehammer, hoping to knock it on its side more easily. All it did, though, was knock the part above the horizontal beam off, and Brian pointed out what a stupid way of trying to get the job done it was. (Not too much later, I came inside, and told Dad what happened. He said pretty much the same thing, but he didn't really get mad at me. Mom came out to see what happened, and brought the piece in to show him.)

Later on, Dad told me and Brian that he would like the holes filled back in. I went out shortly afterwards, assumed I knew what to do, and filled one of them in with some of our fresh soil instead of with the clay that was originally in them. Dad came around as I got started with the remaining one, and told me how to do it.

Mom brought Marie home yesterday, and Dad took me and her out shopping for Mother's Day. Brian couldn't come because he had a job interview. We first went to Lowe's, but Dad said that the stuff there wasn't nearly as good as somewhere else he knew of. After we picked up some Mother's Day presents from there, Dad also drove us to a yard sale to pick up a table for Marie, to his workshop to do... something, and to the boatyard to inspect the catboat.

(While we were shopping around, Marie noticed that all three of us were wearing gray shirts and blue jeans, even though Marie's shirt was a slightly darker shade of gray. Later on, before we ate dinner, Marie wanted us to show Mom this fact, and got me and Dad to stand together with her.)
