GETTER LOVE!!

Five rounds yesterday, the last of which was cut short.

Round 1: Started this round off on a bang! Met with Chikashi at China Hao Hao on the first turn, kicked his ass in a battle, and stole his Youshi and Tairyoku energy. Next turn, went to the school, and met with Nakayoshi girl Makoto. It all went downhill from there.

Round 2: Today's girl of choice was Hana. Didn't have much luck with her, but I did manage to invite her to the Shinto shrine, at which she tried her luck at the shooting gallery.

Round 3: This is the longest bout I've had so far, going on for eleven game-days. Spent this round with Shizuku. I was way ahead of everyone else except Sesshuu (who had Ayumi) most of the time. Along the way, I invited her to my house, gained a lot of Love Love Points from it, and then she invited me to her house. While I was at her house, I confessed my love to her, and she got just got pissed off. I still had a chance with her, though, and hung in there. For the rest of the game, whenever I wasn't seeing her, I took the time to intercept Sesshuu, challenge him, and steal his energy, forcing him to stay home and miss dates.

The winner was... Chikashi, with Makoto. How ironic, because Makoto didn't even have as much affection for him as Shizuku had for me. Pankichi, what the fuck is that all about? The walkthrough states specifically that AI-rivals will never choose the yellow heart button unless they know they can win, they always will win (minus once, only because I stole his energy bars right beforehand), yet I had a decent-sized heart in the chart and lost anyway.

What the fuck?

Round 4: Meifa is my girl today. Kept myself ahead of everyone else, and got both of her on-map special events. But, the winner turned out to be Daisuke with Makoto. He didn't have as good a relationship with her as I had with Meifa. In fact, not even as much as I had with Shizuku during the previous round.

I'll admit that it is frustrating to lose repeatedly in the same place, but I've never had a game say "fuck you" right to my face, except for when I didn't see the school FMV in Makeruna! Makendou Z. There used to be a thread in the ROMhacking.net forum titled "Biggest F-Us in gaming history", where I specifically wrote about said MMZ bullshit. Apparently, said thread got deleted, but if it were still up, I would've gone there to write about this grand pile of cockameme that was thrown in my face.

Okay, so they always give the first answer to the first question, but for the other three, they just seem to answer randomly. So, maybe the answer combinations are fixed for each girl? In that case, next time someone wins, I should write down the winning combo for whichever girl they won, now that I've got all the girls' names on an index card.

Round 5: Got my ass handed to me right from beginning to end. Whenever I find a girl, she gets taken by someone else. I soon settled down with Ayumi. I set up a date with her, but it turns out she's unavailable to go then because she's got a date with someone else. Gee, the bitch could've just told me. So, I'm sucking balls the whole time, and the last straw is when Reika finds me right before a date I have with Ayumi at CD&BOOKS. At that point, I just turned the game off to spare myself further frustration.

Let me tell you, if you have hardly any affection from any girl whatsoever while everyone else is kicking ass, it's best just to forfeit.

On a closing note, here's something I just realized yesterday or so: Is it any coincidence that four of the girls in this game have similar names to certain girls from Kanon? Well, if you think about it, Natsuki has five of the same letters as Nayuki, Shizuku has the first syllable as Shiori (and they're both rather feeble), Ayumi has "Ayu" in her name, and Makoto shares the same exact name with a certain dimwitted fox-girl. Oh, and Kaoru, while being a male character, shares the first four letters with Kaori. Weird, huh?

Writing this tonight because tomorrow, I'm going to the hospital with Mom. While I am able to use LiveJournal there, I won't be able to link to any songs on YouTube.

Vincent called me and told me that was sick today, so I didn't go out with him.

GETTER LOVE!!

Two rounds, and they were both wins! Unlocked four Memory-Unlocking Topics, but no non-ending pics.

Round 1: This round was even longer than yesterday's round with Shizuku. Chose Meifa today. Got my hands on the Shrine Date card, and set up a date with Meifa to go there. First, though, I already had one set up for Panda Park. Beat her there, bought a Reika Ageru card, and then Reika found me before Meifa caught up. Got deux ex machina'd to a Cafe Liquid party, where Alfonso would be to send the bitch packing, and just in time for my shrine date. Or so I thought. Beat Meifa to the school, and then so did Reika, just to be a dick. Well, so much for an outing, but I went over to Panda Burger next turn, and used my Ageru card to send her over to Chikashi.

I also managed to buy a Love Love card at Panda Park at some point, only to get it stolen from me. Whoever snatched it never actually used it, thank God for that. In fact, I met up with him at Cafe Liquid, challenged him to a paintball game, and stole it back. Next turn, I had a date set up at Fashion, beat Meifa there, used the card on her, and then won her Suki Suki ending. Just her with a sparkly white background.

(Good thing Vinnie wasn't able to pick me up today. If he was feeling better, I would either have to leave my game running or forfeit my win.)

Round 2: Today's girl is Kiiro. Not a whole lot to say until right before it ended. I arranged a date to go to my house, beat her there, and Reika got to me first, ruining said date. Lost eight hearts on that one, and then lost five more following Kiiro to Cafe Liquid. The turn after that, I continued to hang around at the cafe, and asked Kaoru where Kiiro would be yet the turn after that.

Now with Reika gone, I headed over to Panda Burger to meet up with Kiiro. She gave me something called a "Kare Pan", whatever that would be, and I nabbed her MaaMaa ending, which depicts her standing by a brick wall and, according to what she says (I should note that she speaks one word at a time), she's looking at the ocean.

As for the topics that I unlocked, I was planning on translating them and writing the translations here, but there are some things that I was unable to find in either dictionary that I have. Even so, I have gotten back to reviewing my Japanese books, and this is a good place to apply the skills that I have learned.
