Sep. 4th, 2009 06:05 amSo much has happened yesterday that I only managed to get in one round of Getter Love!!
Well, first off, I re-rented disk 1 of A Little Snow Fairy Sugar and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya each, and also received disk 4 of Lucky Star. Watched an episode of the first two each. Normally, the third of those would've been Ultimate Girls, the other most notable anime that I watched a year ago, but of course, Netflix doesn't have that, which is why I watched it on YouTube instead. In any case, Lucky Star has been one of my favorites this summer anyway.
Vincent then came over to pick me up, and we decided to drive over to Dowling to get a workstudy position. On the way there, he lectured me about how I need to keep track of a lot more stuff, such as what's involved in getting a position. One of my teachers from last semester even passed me and said hi after we parked, I said hi, Vinnie asked me who he was, and I told him I barely recognized him as my Management teacher from last semester. There he goes again: He can remember and recognize teachers he had twenty years ago, so I should be able to remember professors that I had only a few months ago.
We went to Human Resources, and as it turns out, the previous semester, the entire library department was booked from the previous summer. However, the secretary there did offer to find me a position at the computer department, whether on the Oakdale campus or at Brookhaven.
Upon leaving, Vinnie complained that Dowling is just one big mess of a school. They don't even so much as send a reminder to reclaim one's position. In general, it's a terrible school, in part because all that's required to get in is money. Even Suffolk has higher standards than Dowling. He says that if I don't get a job this time, he's gonna complain, but he also said that complaining probably won't do jack-shit because the people who run the school have the advantage with the current economy: It's that people probably won't leave, given how hard it is to find work, and if they did, those in charge could just hire replacements.
So, upon coming home, I moved the rest of that stack of shingles that Dad bought the other day up onto the apartment deck, and then had a nap until Mom came home. Mom asked me if I wanted to go out sailing with her and Dad. I told her I'd go, for a change of pace from the game. However, as it turns out, Dad was too tired to bother going out anywhere.
Shortly afterwards, Mom drove me to the school to buy my textbooks. On the way there, I told her about what Vincent had been talking to me about, and also told her that he says I should pay attention to the world around me when I'm in the halls, instead of just spacing out. She says she agrees, and explained that even though there are so many people there, in any given place, they're mostly gonna be doing the same thing at any given time of day. (Nothing that she or Vinnie has said sways me the least bit. I honestly don't give two fucks about what anyone's doing or how they're acting when I'm going on about my own business.)
So, I bought my books, returned to the car, and then Mom had to do some grocery shopping. No comment there. Came home, talked to Jake for a bit, had dinner, and watched an episode of My Name Is Earl with Mom and Dad. Went online for a bit after that, but then went to bed.

GETTER LOVE!!
Like I said, just one round today.
Hooked up with Meifa today, and really kicked ass. At one point, she invited me to her house, and showed me a picture of her in her karate outfit. At another point, I was running low on money, and stole some from Daisuke, who had barely over 7000 yen. I took 5000, he then had a date with Ayumi at Cafe Liquid, and then he only had 1200 left over. He then had to go to CD&BOOK to take some from Chikashi. Normally, I make sure that the challenger of any battle wins, regardless of whether or not I'm on his team, but this time, I should have made sure he lost that one.
Towards the end of the round, I used an Al card to see if I could get anything to bother Sesshuu with. I also had a Reika Ageru card anyway, and it was too late in the game to matter. What I got was an Angel Panda card, which was useless since I had enough affection from Meifa to get a Love Love ending. I then got Meifa's Suki Suki ending at the Karaoke Corner.
34)Al's sister
Al talks about his sister. There is this two-kanji combination that I was unable to find. The first is for "kuru", meaning "to come", and the second is the kanji for "nichi", meaning "day".
