Two days ago, on my way home from school, the busdriver told me that his dispatcher took two stops off of another busdriver's schedule and added them to his, so it took me an hour and a half to come home. According to my busdriver, some dispatchers such as this one like to fool around with the bus schedules just to make themselves feel important. When I asked, he said that he'd like to complain, but it's not as simple as one would think.

Yesterday morning, I did the complaining for him through the phone, and the person in charge of the dispatchers said that they do this all the time if the original busdriver of any given client is gonna be late at arriving. He said that they are too busy to be playing games with the schedule. (Dad lectured me about this shortly afterwards.)

GETTER LOVE!!

Four rounds yesterday. This is the last entry that I'll be describing my playthroughs of the game. Tomorrow, I'll have a lot to say in order to wrap things up, and a big surprise at the end!

Round 1: This round and the next were devoted to Shizuku. Went straight to Cafe Liquid on the first turn, and asked Kaoru for her whereabouts. Met her the next turn, back to Cafe Liquid the turn after that, and got the ball rolling from there.

The Information Center and Panda Park are both two of her favorite places to visit, so I was able to buy the Shrine Date card from either of them (don't remember which) before meeting her and setting up a date with it. In between that turn and the next, she asked me to meet her at Itoh Mart. However, I figured that I'd be seeing her at the Shinto Shrine anyway, so I attempted to buy some stuff at the Information Center. This happened to be one of those times that I was denied entry into the Panda Department Store, so actually visiting her at the Mart became my second choice.

At the beginning of each day, Reika starts at the lower right corner of the map. Itoh Mart is on the upper left corner, right next to my house. If you visit Itoh Mart, and she approaches the top of the map from the left side, you know you're fucked, because she's obviously not headed to the department store. Thanks to her, my Shrine date was ruined. To make things worse, I even had a previous opportunity to buy a Reika Gekitai card at Panda Park, but used that turn instead to get acquainted with Hana, since someone used a Devil Panda card on me.

Later on, Alfonso announced Shizuku's event at Itoh Mart. I go there, watch her scene with Pero, and once again, along comes Reika, who this time ruins a date I had several turns later at the library.

So, once she's gone, I still have a chance to win the game with Shizuku. However, several of my opponent are also doing a fine job with other girls, so I decide to go for the win and save her dog-walking scene to my game. I got her Giri Giri ending, which is actually better than the Maa Maa ending this time since I have the latter and not the former.

Round 2: Shizuku again. Can't remember anything that happened, but I did get her Suki Suki ending, which shows her with Pero licking her cheek.

Round 3: Shizuku once again, but not before going out of my way to steal money from someone else. I decided that this time, I would save up for the Platinum Ring, so instead of setting up each of the earlier dates for the next available turn, I spaced them out so I could buy Kanpa and Okane 2 Bai cards. I also bought a Love Love card, and used it shortly afterwards, but it only got me 13 points with her.

I did a pretty good job with her, but later on, I had four consecutive dates set up with her. It was then that I started getting knocked around, being forced to stay home from the first three. The fourth one took place at Fashion, and I thought I was in good enough shape to meet her there. Beat her there, and it turns out that I was short just 200 yen to buy the Ring. Next thing you know, my date flops, and then someone else wins (don't remember or care who).

Well, it was 7:40 when the game was over, and I figured I'd rather end the game on a good note, so...

The last round: Spent the first turn to steal money from one of my rivals. This time, when all my opponents went to Panda Park to meet Nakayoshi girl Hana, I figured I might as well get some action with her too. I did a fine job saving up, but could barely get one date with her for the first week in the game. Daisuke and Sesshuu were competing for her, and Chikashi was also doing pretty good with Ayumi. Sesshuu even used a Love Love card, which raked him 24 points with Hana. And this was much earlier in the game than the one I used in the previous round. WTF?

Later on, though, while Sesshuu stayed home to recover some energy, Daisuke and I both met Hana at Panda Park, and worked together to deprive him of her for two turns. I had the Shrine Date card, and invited her out two turns later, before Daisuke invited her out somewhere between that turn and this.

Bought the Platinum Ring, and then gave it to Hana at Cafe Liquid. It didn't make her happier than any of her normal "happy presents". The following intermission showed that I hardly promoted my relationship with her by buying it. At that point, I turned the game off, knowing that someone else was going to win any turn then anyway.

Tell me one thing, Hudson: Why make something so outrageously expensive that doesn't fall under anyone's favorite presents if anything else you can buy won't be any less satisfying to your girl? What's the point? For all the trouble I spent getting it in the previous round, I could've nearly won Shizuku's Love Love ending by spending more time with her and fucking up my rival's dates!

I hate to say it, but the Getter Love!! era did not exactly end on a good note. But, what can I say? This game is all about strategy and luck. It's a hard motherfuckin' game!

Today's song:
Theme of Duke
Battle Arena Toshinden
Playstation/Saturn
Takara

(The first half of this song is the same as on the Playstation version, which I already hosted much earlier on, but then branches off to something else entirely. Also sounds slightly better, than on the PSX. Enjoy!)
