Went to BestBuy yesterday to look at TV sets. Most of them have 19-22" screens and cost several hundred dollars at least. I took some notes to show Mom when we were back home.

Mom and Brian looked on BestBuy.com to see if we could order one for less than we'd physically buy one for. Mom wondered if anything barely larger than the computer would suit me, since I'm used to seeing my game on a relatively large TV screen. I told her that YouTube videos are really tiny compared to watching or playing anything on a TV set. I even tried watching one in its default size, sitting even further away than my headphones can reach, and I was able to see the video clearly enough. (Come to think of it, I'd still be able to see a larger image on a 19" screen, several feet away, than on any handheld game console that one plays somewhat closer to one's face.) This goes to show how much less of a problem screensize would be than Mom would assume.

Marie came home yesterday.

From what I heard, Mom caught the cat eating a marshmallow from a bag that Marie brought home. According to what Mom and Marie were talking about before we left for dinner, Marie went with her friends to Dave & Buster's, and she got some toy gun called a Marshmallow Shooter, which needless to say, shoots marshmallows. Hence the bag of marshmallows she brought home, and according to Mom, also why she looked rather unpresentable when she picked her up.

So anyway, we went to Riverhead, and our first place of choice was J&R's Steakhouse. It turned out to be too crowded, so we headed a few blocks down to Bobbique instead.

For an appetizer, we got some barbecued chicken. I noticed that someone at the table next to our's had something stringy and meaty. Mom said that it was pulled pork, so I got that instead of a burger for the first time ever, along with some baked beans and some mac 'n' cheese. Especailly nice for a change, since I've been eating cheeseburgers almost every single day for lunch. That stuff was really good, though I ate it with a fork and knife instead of like a sandwich (the way it was meant to be eaten). I did eat the bread afterwards, though.

Oh, and speaking of changes in pace, I should also mention that I ordered some lemonade instead of Sprite for the drink. The menu said that it comes with free refills, so there you go.

Upon coming home, we decided to watch Up, which we've had on DVD for about a week now. I at first felt tired and full from dinner, and almost went to bed instead of joining everyone else. However, I did decide to watch the movie with them. Dad, however, decided that he would rather not sit through it because of its kiddy nature.

Before we watched the actual movie, Brian made milkshakes for everyone. Marie and I each had one while Mom was taking care of some stuff. We also watched a teaser trailer for Toy Story 3, which instead of spoiling for you, I'll post a link to:

Yeah, I remember seeing the original Toy Story and part of the second movie. My family and I went out to see the first movie when I was in 4th grade, though I was at first reluctant to watch it. Me and Matthew watched the first, say, half-hour of the second movie at my house (which Marie picked out, by the way) five years later during the summer.

But anyway, Up was such a touching movie. spoilers )

Well, I did mention before that if the concept of friendship ever came my way, I'd be glad to take an opportunity to upgrade my life. I don't outright avoid relationships so much as lack initiative to start them. However, with Matthew for the most part (except during the initial and final years of my time with him), it was practically a chore. And, even though Vincent did mean well when he tried to get through to me about the importance of friendship, lecturing someone isn't going to open their heart. That's just irritating, although I will admit that sometimes, I feel like I want something like that to challenge.

I asked Mom some weeks after I stopped seeing Vinnie, and she said that someday, I might meet someone physically who I genuinely enjoy talking to.

Anyway, Amy came over while we were watching the movie. She stuck around for a while, and Marie showed her and Brian that marshmallow gun she got. We had some fun shooting marshmallows around, and I shot some at Mabel, before going to bed.

Right now, Brian is out somewhere with Amy.
