Jan. 31st, 2010 06:31 amRecently found someone on the Bulbagarden Forums, who just so happens to live in the same town as me. She shared her Facebook with me, I added her as a friend even though I never have made use of my FB account before, and we exchanged our LiveJournals. Some conversation ensued, and she happens to be interested in playing the Pokemon trading card game. Since I'm looking for someone to play the underground with me, this whole thing just sounds like a win-win situation.
Went to GameStop yesterday, and downloaded Pichu to all three of my regular Pokemon games. Done, done, and done. I did also think of buying some Pokemon cards from the store, although the person I met would rather not be responsible for me having spent money on those if we never do get around to it. Mom also advised me to see how many cards each pack comes with and how much they cost, to see if I can get better deals at other stores or on Ebay. As it turns out, though, GameStop doesn't even carry Pokemon cards, so there you go.
Even though I have taken care of the downloading event, I would rather hold off on continuing with Pokemon Diamond until I get some time in with Dukeburger (the person I met online; that's her name on both LiveJournal and the Bulbagarden Forum). Until then, the most I'm gonna do is consult the Underground Man for rewards, obtain some secret base decorations that can only be picked up in the overworld, and start decorating my secret base (which I just established several days ago). Let's remember that Diamond is supposed to be my second chance to iron out some mistakes that were made in Pearl, before I play Platinum. Missing out on that in Pearl was acceptable because I assumed at the time that I'd be able to play with cousin Adam, which turned out not to be the case. I had already completed Pearl when I learned that he broke his game copy. And finally, a nice bonus that will come with waiting to meet with Duke will be more time allowed for another potential downloading event before I complete Diamond or begin Platinum.
Also, the dice decided that one of my decorations will be a Beauty Cup. Considering how boring the Super Contests were when I gave them a try in Pearl, I had previously decided that I wouldn't bother with them in Diamond. However, on second thought, maybe I'll give it a second with one Pokemon that has at least three Beautiful moves, and if I enjoy it, I'll enter more Pokemon into contests.

Drew another pic, and finally had a look at that drawing book that I got for Christmas. To be blunt, I found Katy Coope's book to be a lot more helpful. Bodies & Anatomy is kinda disorienting, what with all this technical stuff about muscles. I mean, it's overly realistic, even if you're working with characters in any state of undress.
Well, it only took yesterday to whip something up to share with Jake. However, before I host it anywhere, I'm probably going to take some time to make some refined drafts, and will look through my book to see if anything in particular should be fixed up.
