For the past day or so, I've been trying to obtain the Globe from Mr. Goods in Pokemon Diamond. According to most sources, all one needs to do to get it is to trade with someone at the Global Trade Station. I did just that several times last summer, so at first, I figured I was supposed to have spoken to Mr. Goods first. So, I did that, and then traded an egg-raised Hippopotas with someone in Finland for a Chimchar.

As it turns out, several other people have had the same experience. In response to one of these complaints, someone suggested registering their location on some in-game feature called Geonet. So, I did that, traded my female Combee for a female Kricketot, which someone wanted in exchange for a Turtwig, traded said Kricketot for a Japanese level 1 Turtwig that knew Strength, Rock Climb, and Seed Bomb, went back to Hearthome City, and bullshit! Still no Globe.

I also tried a few things on my copy of Pearl. Mr. Goods *did* give me the Gym Statue in that game, which you're supposed to get after you beat the Elite Four. However, I tried trading my unearned Latios for a Spiritomb (after registering on Geonet, of course), and that didn't work.

(There was no real grounds for the trade to take place, but you can't undo a trade. So, I guess I could justify that by saying that both Latios and Spiritomb were unearned, and I had no chance of ever obtaining the latter Pokemon when I was playing Pearl. Plus, I had already done everything there is to do in that game. Oh, and speaking of which, why was I able to find Latias at Southern Island in Emerald the first time I hacked my way there, but not the second time around after I started a new game with that one?)

Anyway, in conclusion, I'd say that the only explanation for this is a glitch in the programming, not unlike the Flapping Duster glitch in Dark Cloud.

Well, it's a good thing I didn't already take on the PAL Park yet, and it's also a good thing that the only item distributions to take place were exclusive to Platinum. At this point, I'd say it's practical enough to abort this playthrough of Diamond. My birthday and the release date of Pokemon HGSS are both just another month and a half down the road now, so I'll get started with whichever game Mom gets me for my birthday then. Dukeburger would also like to allow more time for my relationship with her to develop before she trades phone numbers.

Instead of being seen as time wasted, all of this can be seen as time passed to allow for more events to take place before I complete anything other than Pearl. So far, the only event-only Pokemon I have on Diamond are Arceus and Pikachu-colored Pichu, both of which serve their real purpose in HGSS, and neither of which have battled at all in Diamond. Yeah, I'll lose my unhatched Manaphy egg, but playing Pokemon Ranger all over again is no big deal. In fact, it's a good way to pass even more time and potentially allow for more events to take place.

So, here's the new plan:

1) Get Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver for my birthday. Both if I'm lucky, since I plan on playing both of them.

2) Play Pokemon Ranger all over again, so that I can download Manaphy's egg to it.

3) Play it, and select the boy to start with.

4) When I get the National Dex, start checking the Bulbagarden Trade Center regularly.

5) When I get to the PAL Park, migrate six Pokemon not already collected in-game from each of my GBA games.

6) Trade two Pokemon (selected by the dice) with Diamond for Arceus and Pichu. Doesn't matter whether they were already collected in Diamond, because I'm gonna be starting over with that one anyway. (Will probably be done earlier if any events are announced beforehand that are compatible with Diamond.)

7) Trade something with Pearl for Shaymin. Make sure it's something that I don't have yet in Pearl.

8) Offer all Pokemon and items I have in Diamond in the Bulbagarden Trade Center. Valid until I complete HeartGold or SoulSilver, at which point I will start over with Diamond and erase all of it in the process.

9) Complete HeartGold or SoulSilver, play Ranger once again, start anew with Diamond, and transfer Manaphy's egg as soon as possible.

10) Take on the PAL Park, and migrate six more Pokemon from each of my GBA games. Make sure I have all three legendary golems among them, so that I can take on Regigigas later on.

11) Start checking the BGTC regularly for interesting deals.

12) Complete Diamond, and purchase a Wii so I can utilize any Pokemon I collected in that game on Pokemon Battle Revolution.

13) Play HeartGold or SoulSilver (whichever one I didn't play), select the girl, download the free gifts from PBR ASAP, and repeat steps 2 and 4.

14) Along the way, buy a secondary set of used GBA games. Migrate six unobtained Pokemon from each of them when I get to the PAL Park. Make sure each of them are holding something.

15) Trade two Pokemon with Pearl for Arceus and Pichu.

16) Complete that game, play Ranger once again, and then continue with Platinum from my first visit at Floaroma Town, where I left off. Download the free gifts from PBR.

17) Repeat step 4

18) The first Skull Fossil I get revived will be kept. The second one will be traded with Pearl for Regigigas.

19) Take on the PAL Park, migrate six more unobtained Pokemon from my secondary GBA game copies, and make sure each of them are holding something.

20) Finish Platinum, and decide which Pokemon from each of my Gen IV games will be traded onto something else. Complete the trading sequences, and move onto Gen V.
