I've already received my other copies of Pokemon Ranger. When I'll get around to completing the Manaphy mission on each of them and transferring the eggs to Pearl and Platinum is another question, but I'll make sure I do that before the upcoming Jirachi event takes place.

I had my Nintendo Power magazines delivered just yesterday. They were packed inside a box that originally contained a satellite dish or something, so at first I thought it was something that Mom or Dad ordered. However, Mom noticed the box when she came home, and asked me if I had ordered anything. I told her what it was I had ordered, and then she opened the box as I went out to feed a stray cat that Mom has been making food for on a daily basis.

As it turns out, there was no e-Card. What Volume 173 of the magazines I bought had was instructions on how to use the card, which reveals that a second Game Boy Advance and a link cable are also required. However, I did find some really cheap auctions for the card on Ebay, one of which will be ending today. In the meantime, I'll try to sell the magazines back on Ebay, so as to make some money back.

Finally got around to seeing how USB 2.0 Connect works. So far, I've managed to install it without causing any problems this time. I do have some blank CDs with which to record on. However, I think I'll wait until Monday to unhook the VCR, when Mom and Dad will both be at work instead of home watching TV.

I'm not trying to win back Jake's support on Parasitic Trio with this section. I just need to write down, as far as I remember, why he refuses to have anything to do with it, and why it might actually be for the better.

Well, last time I asked what originally interested him about the ficseries, fanservice aside, he said that the fact that it would've been along the lines of a novelization were what interested him. And yes, that is true. One of the ideas behind it is, what if all my experiences with Pokemon games were turned into fanfiction, and refined to seem much more realistic and natural?

Well, it does suck that he won't be enjoying the creative stuff I might make of all that. In fact, he doesn't even want to see any pics of Ellen in the blue cleavage-dress that she'll be wearing towards the end of the ficseries. But, let's see why:

1) Legendaries vs regular Pokemon. The way he sees things, Legendaries are by definition invincible, regardless of level or type differences. I, on the other hand, firmly believe in game logic, that these aspects still apply.

2) No Pokeball for Uxie, Mesprit, or Azelf. They just tote along, counting as a "seventh" Pokemon and staying with their partners whether they want them to or not.

3) The reason why the Pixies require Ellen, Jamie, or May respectively to be embarrassed apparently came across as stupid to him: The two that I came up with were either a genetic glitch from when they were born, or something that happened to them when they were captured by Team Galactic the first time.

4) Emphasis on gameplay elements. If one wanted to see things in gameplay format, they'd play one of the damn games!

5) Meaningless plot elements. Things like finding gemstones underground or capturing lots of Pokemon for no plot-related reasons. Jake criticized these as being only things to fulfill my interests.

Now, lets look at the negotiability of each of these, which are why Jake probably will not reconcile with me about the ficseries:

1) True, Legendary Pokemon are considerably more powerful than regular ones, but not invincible. With enough training, one can overcome anything. Such is the case with Team Galactic and all of its Pokemon. In fact, if Legendaries were invincible, how would the Pixies have even been captured by Team Galactic the first time around (before escaping and finding their human partners in the ficseries, or at all in the actual games)?

2) Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf are three of the few sapient Pokemon to exist (at least in the ficseries), which is how they found the three main characters in the first place. If they lived inside a PokeBall, their respective trainer could just deposit them inside a PC box, so as to avoid losing their clothes in public, and just use his or her own Pokemon to fight their enemies. (Canonically, we have Jirachi in one of the movies, who was sapient, didn't have a PokeBall, stuck around with Max until he was captured, and was important to what was going on in the events of that movie.)

3) Well, any reason is viable. One way or another, the main characters' sexual embarrassment is one of the most important parts of the ficseries.

4) Like I said, this isn't going to read exactly like a game. Stuff will be added to it that wasn't in the games, and things will be changed to make everything seem more natural. Some gameplay aspects will also be eliminated altogether. For example, no one is gonna plant berries all over the place where anyone could realistically come along and take them, lemonade and other beverages will just be stuff that the characters buy just to enjoy and share with their Pokemon (instead of healing wounds), and emergencies will actually prevent the characters from making sidestops anywhere (unless they're relevant in some way).

5) Well, yeah. Even if some stuff is plot-irrelevant and only exists to fulfill my personal interests, the whole point of this ficseries is to fulfill my interests.

If anything is really negotiable that Jake will probably find stupid, it would be that whole thing I mentioned last summer (last section in the entry) about Arceus and the elemental plates. In fact, I doubt I'll even bother applying anything like that.

Anyway, I'm not sure whether Jake will even bother to read this. I doubt that I'm gonna win his support back, but if I do, then all's fine and dandy. Dukeburger, being female, probably won't be interested in it, what with the fanservice overload that's gonna ensue throughout the series, but in case she actually is, here's a link to the entry where it was first introduced:
