Mar. 17th, 2011 07:28 amYesterday was my birthday, but we had a bunch of places to go when Mom came home. Also, since only Mom and Dad were home with me, we've decided to wait until we visit Mom's family, since Aunt Allison also plans on celebrating Grandpa Bob's birthday early this year. So, instead of baking a cake, Mom baked some butterscotch brownies the previous night.

Contacted Melissa two days ago. She told me yesterday morning that she probably won't be able to get together with me until the end of Spring Break this year, and even then, there is a chance that her boss will want her to work then.
At this point, I decided to see if I could get either a second Nintendo DS for relatively cheap, or a copy of Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs with Deoxys ready for download. I managed to win a DS w/ a bunch of gimmicks for around $80, which was ending 13 minutes from then and conveniently located in New Jersey.
Once I take care of things, I might try selling either unit to Brian, my current one for $120, or my newly-purchased one for $80, with one copy of Guardian Signs to go with it. If he does buy one of them, I could later ask him to bring it home to do the trading sequences once I complete Pokemon Platinum, and then a second time when I tackle the PAL Park in Pokemon White.
If he's not interested, then I'll probably sell my second one back on Ebay, bundled with a Guardian Signs copy, at a reserve price of $80, and hopefully make slightly more money than I had before I bought it. Even though Pokemon Black and White were designed for the Nintendo DS, there is just bound to be some Pokemon games for the newly-released 3DS at some point, and given that that's supposed to be compatible with games for the original DS, yeah.

Mom suggested on the phone yesterday that I check out the BestBuy website, and I managed to find a Wii for $119.99, $60 less than it normally goes for. Showed it to her when she got home, and she told me it's a refurbished unit, which means it might or might not work. Decided to go with it, which means one less place to visit.
We then went to a few places. First, the bank, to deposit what cash I had left from that money order and a few checks I got from Grandma Barbara, Grandma Ella, and Grandpa Bob, along with some quarters I had in my dresser drawer. $142.50 in total!
Next, to RiteAid, to get my picture taken for a bus pass renewal. And finally, to GameStop, in the same parking lot, where I bought Pokemon White.

Mom had a look at that auction I won earlier on, and found out that the DS was also refurbished. Given that the seller does not offer returns, I've really taken a gamble by buying it.

Had Mom order a pizza and some garlic knots for dinner last night. I came with her to pick it up.

Social tips to self: Could have told Chip667 that it's been a while since I contacted him about a Hatsune commission, since he only got back to me two nights ago. Didn't occur to me to do so, and I think it would've been awkward to say it after having already replied to him.
Just last night, DragonRider3, who had been working on a video clip of Hatsune, came back to me completely distraught, telling me that he lost the entire thing, thus making everything he sacrificed (such as his grades) go to waste, and told me that I wouldn't have to pay for it. At first, I told him I wasn't mad, and thanked him for letting me know. However, a few hours later, I decided to give him the 200 points he would've gotten as a base price, along with a free llama badge, and wrote that I'm sorry he lost so much. (Just this morning, I have also linked him to my Commissions folder, and also attached a copy of that pic of the Sailor Moon girls naked w/ their hair updone.)
