Jun. 4th, 2011 07:24 amRode with Mom and Marie back home yesterday.
Early on the way, we stopped at a Dunkin Donuts, and each of us picked out four donuts. One of mine that I picked out was a "Cupid's Choice", shaped like a heart with strawberry icing, sprinkles, and custard in the middle. When we got in the car, we noticed a little bit of jelly on it, and thought that it contained jelly. I let Marie take a bite out of it, and it turned out that it was just a smudge from another donut it must've been leaning on.
(We would've stopped at Krispy Kreme instead, since I noticed a donut with Oreo bits on it when we stopped there a week ago. For some reason, though, Mom was never able to spot a sign leading to one, nor was Marie able to locate one on her iPad. No big deal.)
Further down the road, we managed to catch up with Dad's van. Marie decided to poke her butt out the window, though Mom told us not to pull our pants down. I didn't bother because there was too much stuff in the way for me to stand.
We eventually reached Manhattan, and dropped Marie off somewhere to hitch a bus back to Boston.
Later on still, Mom turned on the radio, and someone mentioned that it was National Donut Day. That's a coincidence that we happened to buy donuts on that particular day, since we had never heard of such a day.
Managed to read the remaining three volumes I had of Yotsuba& in the time it took to get home. Good thing I only read the first two volumes on the way to the lakehouse, and nothing further of it during the graduation ceremony. Also managed to have a day off from Pokemon Diamond.
The grass had really grown since we all left home. I mowed the sideyard and some of the frontyard at some point after coming home.
Also turns out that I had received 37 emails since we left. Brian and Marie have tagged some photos on my Facebook page, but I never checked it while we were upstate.
Spoke to Jake for the first time in more than a week. He would like me to proofread a translation he wrote for some song, and I agreed to do it in exchange for a translation of Makeruna! Makendou Z once I finish.
Starting today, Brian will be going to school in Portland, Oregon, in pursuit of a Master's Degree. On my part, I should at some point get some stuff together to put up on Ebay.
