Jun. 12th, 2011 08:13 amWent to the dump with Dad yesterday to drop off some pallets and our old garden posts. On the way there and while we were there, I discussed with him that whole situation regarding Aaron Bacon and North Star Expeditions, which he knows nothing about. Not gonna go into detail about it, or else I might as well go on about stuff like bullying (which I discussed before), framing, the Judge Rotenberg Center, abuses of power by the CPS, the government in China, and now, not one, but two authorized abduction of newborn children for unconstitutional reasons just last year. (Chelle even once stated on her blog that she avoids writing about stuff like that for that very reason.)
(And to think that, until you're in high school, one's social studies teachers only talk about problems we have overcome, such as the Industrial Revolution, slavery, and legalized racism, and never about problems we still have yet to overcome. That, btw, was also something I had brought up one time back upstate. It deludes you into thinking that we're a perfect nation nowadays, although this place actually is one of the better countries in this world to live in.)
Upon concluding the discussion, Dad has, for at least the second time, told me to check if my sources are legitimate whenever I look up stuff like this. However, we also concluded that the real problem might be that I, like a lot of people (autistic or not), tend to find something to get mad about, even if it has nothing to do with me personally, just for the adrenaline rush that comes with it. Chelle did mention once that stuff that nags at autistic people just isn't going to go away, but I should also note that the frustration that comes with trial and error in video games also factors in, conjuring up both concerns what goes on with the rest of the world and memories of negative experiences I've had with my parents and other people.

Anyway, after taking care of things at the dump, Dad and I made a few trips between Liere Farm and home to load and unload what was left of the brick pile from last week. During our first trip there, owner Bob Liere came to us and spoke to Dad, and Dad introduced him to me.

Moving on, let's recap everything game-related since the day we got to the lakehouse:
First of all, it turned out then that sodapencil (Nick's YouTube account for Japanese videos) doesn't contain any actual stories in context like on ReadJapaneseFast. Was hoping for stuff like short stories and news articles, but no, it was all just basic stuff like writing kana. And, since Twig was down for the whole week, I decided to get back to them when we got home (which I did, but they never responded), and just play Pokemon Diamond. Also used the game as a means to pass the time while I wait for people on DeviantArt to get back to me regarding commissions.
Fast forward to our first day back home. Spoke with Jake for the first time in a week, and he would like me to proofread a translation he did of some song's lyrics. I told him I'd most likely get around to it the next day. I didn't, but I figured I might be able to focus better the following Monday, when I'm the only one home. Still have yet to, and instead, I've been focusing on finishing the main game in Pokemon Diamond. Knowing that the berries you plant in that game could disappear due to neglect really keeps you sucked into it.
Currently, I've just made it to Victory Road, and intend to finally give it a rest once I beat the Elite Four and obtain the National Dex. Also, the 10th of this month has marked the day that the regular school year ends, and I used it as a marking point to contact everyone with whom I've discussed commissions. I also intend to contact people again once I finish things up in Pokemon Diamond for now.
Meanwhile, I've also been trying to decide whether to buy Chip-chan Kick on Ebay (for $121 total), and also attempted to burn the ISO version to a CD-RW two days ago. Just yesterday, after looking at my TFCU account and discussing that and what I intend to buy with Mom, she pretty much encouraged me to go ahead and buy the damn game. She told me that she'd rather I spend money on yet another game or related product than download a program (in this case, Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn) that might put our computer at risk, and that I do lots of stuff around here without pay, so we could discuss less expensive stuff next time the issue comes up.
Let's see: Cameron (who has just registered an account here the other day as megaze) has just recently figured out how to play PC-FX games on Magic Engine FX, was unable to download Mednafen anywhere for whatever reason, and probably doesn't have enough RAM on his computer to work with Xe (which I've still had no luck with). So, trying to figure out how to play on an emulator is now a moot point.
Aside from that, though, I would specifically like to play something in my room, instead of on an emulator. When I finish business in Pokemon Diamond, I intend to resume learning kanji online, and would like something to play away from the computer. However, the game has been estimated to take about a month to get here.
The idea is to have something to play, that isn't too complicated, also to pass the time while I wait between dA messages. For that, I could just as easily be playing Getter Love!!, Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Whacked!, or Pokemon Emerald, and that's not mentioning the many, many games I could just buy right from GameStop or download to the Wii Virtual Console for a lot less than I just paid for CCK yesterday. None of them currently interest me, though I do feel like this is a good time to continue watching anime and continuing business with Netflix.
Well, whether it was actually worth it or not, I've already spent a huge amount of cash, so I might as well enjoy the game when it gets here. Meanwhile, maybe I'll re-download Mahou Poipoi Poitto and see if there are any SNES/SFC emulators I can play on my laptop. Not as comfortable to be huddled right in front of it than it is to be sitting or laying on my bed, but it'll probably do. (Plus, that game currently isn't even available at all on Ebay.)

On a minor note, Mom bought some special mint ice cream while food shopping, colored like the Statue of Liberty, complete with a depiction of it on the lid in order to celebrate its 125th anniversary.
