Tried to bowl with Mom on Wii Sports. After having the ball curve to the left almost every single roll, I looked online for some tips on how to play better, and found this.

-----

Had this talk with Dad during dinner. He thinks the idea of asking around on DeviantArt for pictures is stupid and bound to bring nothing but disappointment. He says that even if I insist on doing so, it would still help if I develop some talent of my own.

Well, let's look at why I hire people to draw stuff for me: Even putting my discouragement from some months ago aside, I already have other plans for life. Learning Japanese, learning HTML, writing fanfiction. Dad did say that one thing doesn't cancel everything else out. True, but I can still only focus on one thing at a time. And on weekends when Mom and Dad are home, I actively avoid getting started or picking back up with stuff because these things require focus, and it doesn't exactly help when either of them could ask me to do something at random, breaking my concentration. (Not so much the case if I'm already in the middle of whatever it is.)

That said, I really do think that commissioning people is the best action to take. Of course, since it's been pretty hard to find anyone who accepts points for commissions, doesn't use anything that resembles Microsoft Paint, gets anatomy mostly correct, is willing to draw nudity and very large body parts, and is willing to draw in any other style besides their own, I might take to drawing Ellen myself. However, this would conflict with other plans of mine to draw a weapons pic that Chelle suggested I draw and to reread Japanese in Mangaland so I can proofread those lyrics that Jake wants me to correct, and I am definitely not going to draw the lake pic myself, since I already wear myself out enough drawing just one person at a time.

(I did mention the weapon picture to Dad during our talk. He said himself that it's considerably easier to draw inanimate objects than it is to draw people. He essentially named another reason himself as to why I hire people: Because I want stuff a lot sooner, and done right, than I'd be able to draw myself. It's not stupid, it's efficient.)

Here's what the above section stems from: Right before dinner, due to my habit of muttering to myself and my addiction to negativity, Mom asked me what the matter was. I managed to tell her about some issues with certain people I was having on DeviantArt.

Well, first of these two people is Ami-Mizuno-KiRa. Took a whole month to draw up and show me a new sketch of the aforementioned lake pic. Drew the girls' breasts and butts average size, so at first I took that as an opportunity to have Chelle critique it before asking Ami to enlarge the girls' body parts. She tells me that she can draw larger, but not as large as I want, even though I provided her an example of what I wanted in the very first post I sent her. I have some mercy for her, though, and give her 70 points for having worked on it for so long, and I also appreciate her having pointed out that Jamie looked girlish the way his legs were positioned in the original sketch.

(Sorry to have wasted your time, Chelle. I'll compensate you with some points if you want.)

Upon re-reading said first note, it turns out that I actually had made the enlargements optional. Okay, so I'm at fault there, and even the fact that I reserve the right to change my mind on certain details before I deem something good enough for lineart doesn't really justify having said nothing before. Glad I did give her some points for her efforts, and that I wasn't as harsh with her as I was with the person I'm about to discuss next:

Meet Colaholic (and no, this has nothing to do with measurements).

Just a few days ago, I send him a note after finding him through Commission Wall, insisting that he be both willing to draw big breasts and buttocks and flexible with his art style. That was all I said in the very first note. He accepts it, and I ask him to draw Ellen. He takes a few days to draw up a pic, and it doesn't look anything like in the Pokemon Special manga (which a certain userpic is based on). I ask him to redo it, and his response is:

This is my style of drawing. Please find another one to do your pic. Thank you.

This one, I spoke to Mom about not long after dinner. This is like hiring someone who says that they can do everything that the job description entails, and then they come out and say that they're incapable of it. Mom said that such people are more likely willing to at least try to do what the job requires. However, this person, prior to showing me the sketch, told me that my only complaint would likely be that her breasts aren't big enough. That, combined with the aforementioned response, tells me that he didn't even try.

I might be more forgiving with other people, like I was with DragonRider3 and nanashi-no. In this case, though, there's really no excuse. He has no one to blame but himself for not following one of the very first directions I gave him, I did not and will not give him any points for his "effort", it's his own time wasted, and he's lucky he didn't exactly sign a contract.
