Nov. 15th, 2011 06:37 amLast night, Dad was flipping through the channels, and I noticed something on ION that I immediately recognized as Stand By Me despite never having watched it before. Mom asked me how I knew, and I told her that I found out from here that that's what plays on your TV at the beginning of Pokemon RBY (and also FRLG if you play as a boy). (To be exact, the screen mentions four boys walking along a train track, which is exactly the point at which we tuned in.) Mom told me that she's seen that movie before, but would take a few minutes to recall what it was (if not for the info button on the remote).
(I also recall a reference to it made in one of the letters in LearnJapaneseFast, and once noticed something on Earthbound Central about it being inspirational material for Earthbound Zero. More about the latter here.)
Mom and I decided to continue watching the movie. Dad spent most of that time on the computer or having a shower, but did join us towards the end.

Three people had joined Job Offers yesterday, without me sending them an invitation or asking them for a commission. That was just yesterday. Yumi-Tamashii was the first (and so far, the only other) person to find the group on his own, just the other day.
Thursday is when all remaining invitations that I've sent expire, so I'm gonna send more then. Meanwhile, today's probably a good day to continue discussing Monster Collection Chronicles with Jake and Chelle, after having spent the past three days mostly mowing leaves.
