Nov. 23rd, 2011 06:37 amTwo nights ago, Mom and I watched this show about a man who raised a bunch of turkeys in Florida, and then another show about ferret owners. Not a whole lot to say about the former, except that it had a bit of a downer ending. Mom started cleaning stuff up from dinner after it ended, though, and Dad came home while I was watching the ferret show. At first, he just kinda snarked at it while Mom was still taking care of the kitchen, but then Mom joined him and both of them started to like it.

Been talking about the Lucky Star fic with both Jake and Chelle these past few days, even though neither of them is familiar with that series (along with the fact that Jake dislikes anything produced by Kyoto Animation).
In an email to Chelle, I suggested that we might come up with an actual plot particularly by deriving stuff from all three games in the Earthbound trilogy and remixing them. Since she's unfamiliar with those games as well and probably has no intention to play them, we agreed that I would link her to the walkthroughs on Starmen.net, marking down what she should skip and what's worth reading on each part for the first two games. I didn't bother analyzing anything of Mother 3 because I didn't want to spoil it for myself any further than I already have, but in response, she suggested that we just talk about events from the first two games.
So, I did the obvious thing to do, and ditched my current playthrough of Earthbound to start playing Mother 3 once and for all. She did say that it would take her some time to read through the walkthroughs for both of the first two games, so that gives me some time to play all the way through that game first. And of course, there is the off-chance that she might not even like where the plots of the first two games go, in which case I'd have no reason to bother filtering anything out from the M3 walkthrough for an email.
Thing is, the Earthbound franchise is only three games (at least officially), with no intention on creator Shigesato Itoi's part for any more installments, and there is also this need of mine for some kind of completion (or something like that). If we were talking about an ongoing franchise, then yeah, I would have to draw the line somewhere, which is exactly what I've done with Pokemon (i.e. nothing past generation IV in Parasitic Trio, save for the Battle Subway and any abilities introduced since).
In any case, I still do intend to play Arn's Winter Quest after I finish Mother 3 (mainly for enemy species not canon to the trilogy, since it's not an official work). Adventure of Hourai High won't matter, though, now that I've decided where and how the girls will travel.

Grandpa Bob has come over since yesterday, and brought some cookies and desserts with him for this Thanksgiving weekend. He also watched this show on DVD called The Bronx is Burning last night, and is going to sleep in my room until he leaves.
