Feb. 26th, 2012 05:46 amGot 30 points by giving a llama badge to emolgafanforever, right after we came home from the gym yesterday morning. And what better time than when I need all the points I can get to keep the 100-day fanart campaign going.

Dad had me come down to his workshop only an hour or so later on, and had me clean up all the sawdust, put a pile of sticks into a couple of recycling cans, clean the bathroom up, and clean out the microwave and refrigerator. After I did all that, he asked me to name a price I think would be worth my work, to which I decided $15. At first, he accidentally gave me a hundred instead of a ten, along with the remaining five, and I pointed out this mistake. He didn't have any tens on him, so he gave me a twenty and asked me to pay back five at some point.
Mentioned it to Mom when she came by to pick me up, and she suggested that I could work it off today.
Er, yeah. It felt kinda irksome that Dad had to be so exact about it. Like, I might as well have asked for twenty in the first place. And now, Mom was suggesting I work it off, which basically meant I might as well be working for free, even though both she and Dad have a job each and I still don't. I know it's not like I'm being paid a measly fifty cents, but I doubt I'm ever gonna be asked to name my own pay for any formal job I might get, and even with the informal ones, would a little generosity seriously hurt? If he were to give me any amount worth my work on his own terms, without asking for any of it back, then everything would've been just fine.
Dad came home at some point after me and Mom did, and earlier than he usually comes home. I got carried away and ended up harping over that petty five dollars, to the point where Mom simply got some singles for me to give to Dad, under the condition that I give her back five when I deposit the twenty at the bank. After that, things just felt kinda awkward, and to be honest, they would've been just as much if Dad were to give in and tell me to just keep the damn extra.
That all said, I've already agreed to do some more work for Mom or Dad if I'm getting paid for it, now that we've had that issue settled once and for all.

Unrelated, Yahoo Answers has chosen my answer to a question about Pokemon Emerald from three years ago as a Best Answer. Got ten points for it. And it was a really simple question too, one that the person asking could have looked up a walkthrough for, and for which I was able to answer in exactly five words.
