Feb. 29th, 2012 06:20 amMom emailed me yesterday morning to see if Angry Birds is playable on the Blackberry Torch or LG Thrill. From what I gather, at least the first game is. Couldn't really find out online whether Seasons or Rio are, though I did find out that all three games, in fact, are available for Macintosh. They just cost about $5 each to download, which is really cheap and should be affordable even with my DeviantArt event going on.
Also found out about the upcoming Angry Birds Space, which is due out on the 22nd of next month (only six days after mybird-birth-day).
After Mom came home, she explained that the reason she asked me to look those up is because there was a sale going on for those two devices where she works. Even though I will be able to play all three (soon to be four) games on my laptop, I told her that I could use one of those for in the car when we drive to Boston in a few months. She told me that she'll look into buying one if said sale is still going on. If not, then I'll probably be able to buy something at GameStop for my DS.
Right now, though, I've already made plans on how I'm gonna manage my time. After I finish the first unit in Kanji in Context, I'm going to play the Chrome version of the game one last time, since only that version has the Chrome Dimension and the promotional levels. The completion of Unit 2 in the book will probably be when I play the full Mac versions of all three current games for the first time, since Unit 3 is a lot longer.
(I would still like the hard drive fixed up at some point, so that I can play Mother 3 on our main computer.)

Had another visit by Jaymes yesterday, and he introduced me to a new job coach I will be having, named Dennis. Also brought up a new opportunity for employment at Bethpage Ballpark this coming weekend.

Been a bit lax lately with the fireplace, now that the weather's getting warmer outside. Some point after Mom got home, she complained to me and decided to start it up again, but I retrieved some kind of rusted hook that was previously lodged in one piece of firewood before she started the fire. She told me that that thing was one of the hooks for the hammock that we used to have out back, and told me to save it for later use. (Said hammock was at some point discarded, and Dad eventually had me dig up at least one of the trees that used to hold it up (don't remember how long ago) before building the garden shed in its place last summer.)
Mom also told me about something else that used to be lodged into a tree that used to be near our front steps. When Dad was a kid, Grandma Barbara had something in that tree with which to keep her dogs leashed up. That tree had to be taken down back in 2001, after an ice storm caused one of its branches to fall and damage Dad's van and our then-tenant Phyllis's car, but not long after it was, Dad told us kids that it was so old that President Theodore Roosevelt from more than a century ago walked passed it at least once. (Might not have been a joke.)
Never did anything with that thing, but I do remember (possibly back in '06) finding something similar but very narrow (with a screw-like pattern and a ring on one end) lodged in a piece of firewood, picking it up with the tongs once the wood was burned up, and running it under water while it was red-hot just to hear it sizzle. Mom says that that might have been from a separate tree, used to hang a plant pot with.
