May. 28th, 2012 07:58 amStepped on a frickin yellowjacket yesterday. I was in the house, wearing my socks, having just gotten off the computer when it happened, and I ended up waking Mom up from a nap when I screamed. She made some kind of paste with which to treat it, before taking Grandpa out to buy flowers and pick up Marie and Jacob, and had me just lie on the futon where I've been sleeping since Grandpa started living here, and then started treating it with an ice pack when they all came back home.
Might have avoided it if I had agreed to have Mom take me to the gym, instead of putting it off for the next day, but that's no guarantee. What the fuck was that thing doing in the middle of the floor anyway, instead of trying to get back outside through the window? First time we know of that one had been right there.
Marie and Jacob were planning to eat out somewhere. At first, I suggested we wait an hour or so in case Brian comes back home, but at around 6, the two of them were already starving. Brian still hadn't come home, and at first, I considered going with them, but I decided against it because I don't think I would have been able to really enjoy myself with my foot hurting. Thanks, damn bug!
Well, Uncle Robby and Cousin Adam had it worse not too long ago. The reason Grandpa Bob is currently living with us, after having spent some time at the nursing home, is because he broke his hip while the three of them were on vacation in Virginia, and they had to return home early after breaking him out of his hotel room.
In any case, Mom told me that the gym closes at noon today. While I normally would be going there to make up a session that I missed yesterday morning, if I had to miss out on eating somewhere we've never been to before, then I'm sure that letting this session go entirely would be right on the table, even though my foot doesn't hurt as much as it did yesterday.
