Jul. 28th, 2012 07:02 amMarie has been home since the night before yesterday.
Mom got me this book called An Anthropologist On Mars, about someone who has done field research with various autistic people. I read the last chapter, about Temple Grandon, just yesterday morning.
Bought Mega Man & Bass on Ebay, for after I beat Mega Man 8 on the Anniversary Collection.
Mom took me and Marie to The Curry Club yesterday afternoon for dinner. On the way there, she asked us if we remember, once in Maine, going to some tallgrass field with various pieces of artwork built of wood, glass, and metal. I remember no such thing myself, even though we had all been to Maine every summer from 1997 through 2002 (except for '98, in which we camped down in Maryland instead for a few days right after school ended).
Not much to say about our actual visit to The Curry Club. However, Mom was thinking of taking us to the beach while Marie's here, so after we left, we went shopping at a nearby Target and Marshall's for a pair of sandals for me and a swimsuit for Marie. Failed to get either of those at either store.
When we got home, this orange cat that we feed (we call it Garfield, even though it actually has an owner who named it Pancake) was waiting in the driveway for some food. I almost managed to pick it up, but it slipped away. Then again, I had to use the bathroom anyway, so that would've taken the fun out of holding it.
Last night, all four of us watched the first half of this movie called Amadeus. To start off, I do remember that we used to own that movie on VHS, but the only time I ever actually watched it was in Music early in 6th grade. Dad told her before we started the movie, that the actor who played the principal from Ferris Beuller's Day Off is also in the movie, as the person who says "Too many notes" at one point. We also noticed in the opening credits that Tom Hulse, who also had a role in Animal House, acted in this movie as well.
More than halfway through the movie, Dad decided he had seen enough, having already seen it before, and got up to check the WoodenBoat forum and GameKnot. Marie looked at the DVD case, and discovered that the movie is a whopping 160 minutes long. She and I both agreed that it would be better to just pause the movie and come back to it sometime today.
Before I went to bed, I noticed that that book Mom got me glows in the dark. I showed her and Marie, and Marie found it rather creepy, while Mom thought it was cool. We weren't not sure whether that was intentional or not, but turns out it was.
