Sep. 8th, 2012 07:59 amWent to the library with Mom an hour before my dentist appointment, since I had some DVDs reserved there for me. Got Corpse Princess, Angel Beats!, and disk 1 of Fate/Stay Night.
After my appointment was over, Mom was still in the middle of her's, and I decided to hang out near the car. At some point, I noticed that the pizzeria it was parked in front of was actually open, and went back to ask Mom if it was okay if I eat lunch there. Had a chicken hero, a canole, and a bottle of Orange Crush. Mom met me inside after her appointment was over, and told me that she'd be going somewhere while I was still eating.
After I finished, I waited for her outside. At some point, Dad stopped by in his van, and spoke to me from across the street, asking where Mom was. I told him that she went somewhere and would be back soon, and he told me to let her know that he was on his way to the shop, so that she wouldn't have to stop by there.

For the record, Corpse Princess has failed, Fate/Stay Night passes, but I'm not quite sure yet about Angel Beats! Turned that one right off after Yuri's second strike on someone during the meeting scene, but then read on TV Tropes: Slapstick Knows No Gender that Hinata's attacks on Yui (male on female) are played just as much for laughs as her's on him. Not sure whether to give it a second chance for that (seeing as male-on-female violence normally doesn't fly) or not (since it's mutual anyway).
In any case, MWP-chan notwithstanding, I'd likely be somewhat more forgiving about something if I either got it as a gift or bought it with my own money. That is, unless female-on-male abuse was the whole point of the show to begin with. I will never sit through anything like Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan, since that whole show is about traumatizing a male character for laughs. Baka & Test is also out of the question, not only for playing female-on-male abuse as acceptable, but also for blatantly implying that only boys can be idiots in and of themselves.
