Sep. 23rd, 2012 06:48 amWent with Mom yesterday to drop Marie off at the ferry station, and then to WalMart and the library. Got some more Nintendo Power magazines, along with Spice & Wolf, which they had received for me on DVD.
(Feeling better now since those rants from several weeks ago, but I still have yet to redraw the line as to what I'll accept in anything I watch before I renew my Netflix account. Was thinking of getting Chelle's help on that at some point, since she compared my issues to her distaste for Black and White Morality, has recently had similar frustration recently with what Crunchyroll had to offer, and if I recall correctly, used to rationalize continually for Shinzo's faults before having to admit that that show was never worth projecting her ideals onto. One way or another, S&W is very much in the green zone for me, as is Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (which I have watched another episode of post-rants).)
Came home, had lunch, and then did a few small chores for Mom and Dad. Had a nap, and then ran some errands with Dad.
First, to Home Depot for some stuff. While we were there, I noticed a flyer near the cash register saying that if the clerk doesn't ask about the store's credit card, customers get a free soda. I pointed it to Dad, and on our way out, he told me that they ask everyone. Apparently, the offer is just to get people's attention.
Then, to the shop to mow the lawn there. Took care of that, and went down to the gas station for a drink. Noticed that they have Cadbury Screme Eggs, which have green-and-white filling (along with the obviously different foil). Got one along with a vanilla Nesquik, before coming back to the shop.
And then, several stops which were right on the way home. Dad was primarily going to Staples to deliver something, but we happened to be passing the bank, so I deposited $16.75 from what was left of the twenty that Dad had given me.
At Staples, I noticed this whole shelf of USB drives shaped like skateboards, snowboards, various jungle animals, and characters from The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Angry Birds. (If there were such for anime characters, given how similar these things are to what are called gachapon, that would be awesome! Especially if they were actually sold here as well as in Japan. Unfortunately, I just looked on Ebay, and didn't see that many.)
