Dec. 22nd, 2012 05:34 amBrian and Marie both came home yesterday, although Marie didn't get here until last night, shortly after I went to bed.
Yeah. Dad went down to the train station to pick him up somewhere around 10 or 11 A.M., and I asked him to get bagels while he was out. He brought home a bag, and I toasted myself a salt one to have jelly on.
We also watched some YouTube videos about old-fashioned trains in Great Britain, similar to the kinds featured in Thomas the Tank Engine. Dad explained that those kinds of trains have been obsolete in America since the 50's because they are not economically feasible to maintain alongside with modern models, although they are still tourist attractions in the U.K.
Brian went to bed after we were done watching.

Later on, I showed Brian that fake Nintendo Power cover, the description on Tumblr, the Lucky Star spritesheet, and the outline of Starbound. Didn't show him the first actual chapter of the fic, because even though it is complete, there are still things that need ironing out (and I hope Chelle gets back to me about that soon, so I can show him before he leaves). He decided to take a break while reading the outline, but commented that it really has the same flavor to Earthbound. While he was off, I pulled up the Lucky Star character sheet on TV Tropes for him to look through, so he can tell who's who in the fic.
(While I do plan on emailing him every time I update the fic, it occurred to me at some point that, when the fic is finished, I could compile all the chapters (and also images of both canon and non-canon characters) into a book, just like I've done with Chronicles of 7th Grade. That way, he'll have it on hand to read whenever he wants, instead of forgetting all about it.)
A short while later, I remembered that Top 25 Nintendo games list from only a few days ago. At that point, everyone (except me) was eating dinner, and then Dad went on the computer, and then they all watched an episode of Northern Exposure. That's when I went to bed, not long before Marie came home.
In any case, I do plan on showing him today, just how choppy our computer can get when I'm playing something or any of us are watching anything on YouTube. That might be a perfect time to show him the list afterwards, and then maybe he'll be interested then to continue reading the outline.
