Dec. 24th, 2012 05:33 amThe five of us drove to Uncle Robby's house in New Jersey yesterday. I brought October and December's issues of Nintendo Power to read along the way there, and read the former.

Uncle Robby, Grandpa Bob, Cousin Adam, Aunt Allison, Uncle Blas, Cousin Steven, and Steven's girlfriend Jordan had all come for our get-together. Grandma Ella didn't come because, according to Mom, she hurt her back and her leg and didn't want to sit on the train from South Carolina for any number of hours.
Reaped a total of 50 MyCokeRewards points from two of the soda boxes on the front step (all of which I unpacked; 10 points each) and ten soda caps (one from a Sprite that Jordan had, and the other nine that Uncle Robby had stockpiled on the kitchen windowsill and in his car; 3 points each). That's five points more than I had spent on the first of this month, not even counting other caps I had found since then! Briefly took my laptop out of the trunk of our car to enter the codes, so that I wouldn't have to spend the whole day with a pocketful of soda caps. Looking forward to rolling the dice to see how many points I spend and on what on New Year's!
While waiting for dinner, some of us watched parts of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Alvin & the Chipmunks on FX. Not much to say about dinner itself, but for dessert, we had a few different cakes and some kind of pie. It was also then that, as agreed upon everyone there, we would give scratch cards to one another for Christmas, and begin scratching them there. The ones Uncle Robby got, unfortunately, had been drenched in something, making them unusable at first.
No one agreed to share any major winnings. That became a moot point, because I was the one to win the highest amount of any of us, a total of $23 plus a free card. Aunt Allison gave me the money and promised to mail me the freebie while she's home.
(Even though it is a modest amount, I sure am glad to have won something. Gonna need every cent I can cash in the bank when I host Starbound and publicly ask people to contribute stuff for the fic.)

During the ride home, we noticed that the World Trade Center is being rebuilt, but this time, only as one tower instead of two. Gonna have to look up why just one this time.

During all hour hours away from home, the only real message I got was final draft of the first chapter of Parasitic Trio: Jamie's Quest, from Jake. I actually noticed when I took my laptop out before we even went back home, but didn't actually look it over. Wasn't very convenient to do so there, what with everything that was going on, and I was feeling tired when we got back home, but I'll be sure to give it a read today.
