Found out yesterday that Wonder Project J2 had been rereleased in Japan for mobile phones in April 2010.

Speaking of Japan-only N64 games, while the NP cover that I had Chelle put together is no longer immediately available on Google Images, I did find out that the image I gave her to use was actually part of the box's back cover. Well, I already had given it to Chelle, and at least it's better than nothing. Wouldn't be surprised if other viable images from the website appeared in the instructions manual.

On that note, while I did email Kristina right away after uploading the cover to Tumblr, it took her until this past Christmas Eve to get back to me:

Got my all-region DVD player out from one of my bins under my bed, and asked Brian if he wanted to watch an episode of Nichijou with me. Noticed a disk to this English show called Kingdom when I ejected the disk tray, but couldn't find the case for it. (Mom told me when I asked later that she had actually been looking for that for months. I commented that it's a good thing I ordered a Region 2 DVD of all things recently.)

Mom and Marie came home from somewhere right after I started it up, and I asked her to watch part of it as well, mainly about the music. After we were done watching, I brought up with her the fact that the music sound really old fashioned and hokey, even compared to purely instrumental stuff of today (and even though the music in this show isn't synchronized with what goes on).

Neither of us could place a finger on what it is, but for an analogy, try comparing the original 1933 version of King Kong to the 2005 remake. Or, among Disney films, try to compare Pinnochio (1940) to Aladdin (1992). I mean, even though the animation and lighting and stuff had obviously improved over time, the instruments are all the same, meaning that songs written for modern films could just have easily been written more than half a century ago.

My only guess here is that songwriting just kinda evolved, didn't it.

Made it to 96% in Wonder Project J2. Last achievement to clear is winning a role play that Josette thinks up after reading the Bad Book. No matter how many times I have her lift the dumbbell, she always gets KO'ed when it comes time to fight the first boss.

And, to make things even more confusing, I actually managed to beat said first boss the first time I attempted that objective.

I've already sent an email each to Ryu (who wrote the translation patch) and Kristina Potts (who wrote both a review and one of the only two walkthroughs currently in existence, as well as for Getter Love!!). Would sure help if there were gameplay videos of this game on YouTube.

In any case, I think I'll start working on an enlarged version of one of Kagami's hived sprites to use as the icon for Starbound. I already tried simply copying the original sprite onto its own page, and it came out rather blurry when I uploaded it. If I don't hear back from either recipient, then I'll just consider it time to start playing Mother 3.

Mom just asked me not too long ago if it would be okay if she and everyone watched Rocko's Modern Life later on, since she saw it flash across the menu screen. I initially told her no, but changed my mind moments later, since it was only two days since we got Roku, and since Brian and Marie wouldn't be here for very long anyway. After all, it is one of those shows that we kids used to love during our childhood; more about that in a bit. I let Mom know, provided she let me know when she intends to put it on so that I can head outside. She told me that it was just a thought, and that she wouldn't want to have some enjoyment at my expense.

Right now, one of those two episodes of Bob's Burgers we watched on Christmas two nights ago comes to mind. Bob didn't want any of Gayle's paintings in his shop because it would--and did--drive customers away; for Linda, to have all those squicktastic pictures all over the place had secretly been driving her crazy. On my part, I currently do not allow any Nicktoon paraphernalia on either of my DeviantArt groups, even if they match what the groups are about. Though, at least in this case, it would only be one show, viewable only on our main TV screen (as opposed to all over the walls, though still audible enough throughout the main part of the house).

Now, let me be honest: While I still am neurologically allergic to anything branded a Nicktoon (particularly the earlier stuff; I can tolerate later ones like Avatar: The Last Airbender), I would like to overcome this aversion. I already did mention two paragraphs ago that some of them (including the monster one, which we even once watched a whole marathon of once when Aunt Allison and Cousins Dennis and Steven were over), as well as certain other cartoons such as Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, The Busy World of Richard Scarry, King of the Hill, and Daria, were a prominent part of my childhood. However, Chelle did tell me at least once not too long ago, that to rewire my brain would not be an easy task. Frankly, I think it might help if I finally had a new psychologist with whom to explain why I became so averse to these shows.

But anyway, I understand how nostalgic that show, and others, are for my family, and that the novelty of having Roku for the first few days is still fresh. At the same time, though, Mom understands how negative a trigger these shows currently are for me, even though I didn't have any problem with this one when Brian got some bootlegged DVD copies for Christmas in 2005. So... yeah.
