Jan. 24th, 2013 03:21 amGot both my games yesterday. For now, though, I'm probably gonna wait until I complete Unit IV of Kanji in Context before I play either of them, and then flip a coin to decide which package to open. In the meantime, I'm probably gonna continue playing Mega Man between each set of kanji lessons, so that I only have to swap with the Anniversary Collection disk once, and also to give Angry Birds a chance to pile more episodes on before I continue with those games.

Beat Makeruna! Makendou yesterday, and showed Mom the beginning of the ending since she was around. (She had to go to work while they were playing.) She asked me isn't that the same game I bought a PC-FX for (late in 2008), but I should note that while she and Dad casually call that game just Makeruna! Makendou, it's actually the last of four installments in the quadrilogy. (Notice that, whenever I refer to it more than once, I abbreviate it as MMZ. The game I've just been playing is the first installment.)
It also turns out that Masakani, the girl dressed as a crab in Makeruna! Makendou Z, actually started out as an actual crab in this game. How odd. Of course, that shouldn't surprise anyone who's played MMZ, seeing as nearly every single boss in that game is humanoid (except for a few robots, even then with the same basic body structure), unlike this game, which has a trio of fish, a press machine, and an owl among its bosses. Both games do have plenty of non-humanoid mooks, though.
Well, it took a total of three days to beat the game (those being half of yesterday, the day before, and the 13th). So, three kanji lessons starting today. Tomorrow, I have an appointment at community enterprises, so the ride there and coming back home would be a perfect time to re-read some stuff from Japanese in Mangaland, and the hours before I leave, possibly after I finish whatever lesson I'm on, would be a good time to describe to Chelle what I've got planned out for the beginning of Starbound's second chapter.

At some point, I should also check out Kira to Kaiketsu: 64 Tanteidan for the Nintendo 64. Not sure why I wasn't interested in that game when I was talking so much about Chronicles of 7th Grade, seeing as that game was released in Japan on October 23, 1998, more than a month before Getter Love!! It even stood out enough for me to bother clicking on during my first view of Wikipedia's list of N64 games during October 2007.
Currently, there aren't any information, translation patches, or cartridge copies anywhere online, but hopefully, I should be able to play it and figure everything out on Nemu64.
