Feb. 24th, 2013 05:16 amWent to the library and several other places with Mom yesterday. Got disks 1 and 2 of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Watched the entire first disk later on.
Up until now, that show seemed interesting enough that it became one of those things that inspires me to think about MCC/Cult. Of course, I was aware that the Cult is by no means going to be a gender-equal equivalent to PMMM. I mean, true, I do intend to put the main team in Cult through a lot of trauma (mainly in the form of false memories of being killed in a number of ways or seeing it happen to their friends), and both the Knights and the Puella Magi wield more interesting weapons than what I've got planned for the party in Starbound (which, right now, is the only thing I really think about regarding Cult*). However, Mon Colle Knights was about teamwork, elements, and an adventure, all of which will also be present in Cult. PMMM, on the other hand, is a battle royale, was written to ditch the concept of elements entirely (save for Time), and is about the characters not able to enjoy what they do. While Cult is going to be generally darker and edgier than MCK, it's going to be more in the middle between that and PMMM.
(*Not the first time I became less interested in MCC or even MCK in favor of something else. There was also Digimon Royale, which took more of my interest during the first year of this blog, although that was also going to feature all the same mains planned to appear in MCC at the time (twelve of whom were later discarded). Right now, though, whenever I do listen something I like, from any game, I tend to think more about battles that would be going on in Starbound than in Cult.)
