Apr. 7th, 2013 06:52 amWent out with Brian to Patchogue yesterday. He had to get a haircut, and I had a few things to get at BestBuy afterwards.
They didn't have any Wii Zappers for sale there, due to the launch of the Wii U, but I was able to buy a SanDisk card and reader, with which I plan to obtain the Wii Homebrew Channel. Also looked around at the games there, and noticed this 3DS remake of The Oregon Trail, one of those games I used to like so much late in 1994.

Just bought a copy of Mother: The Original Story off of Amazon.co.jp, and plan to start translating that when I receive it. In fact, at this point, I'm actually thinking of ditching Kanji in Context entirely for the time being, because I've already completed the first of its two books, which is essentially more than half the course, and still need my two dictionaries in order to convert anything into romaji, let alone translate it outright.
Really, Japanese in Mangaland and Kanji in Context were both just the beginning of things. The only way to really excel at something is to spend years at it. Right now, Lance has already gotten started with Makeruna! Makendou Z, so that might eventually be a moot point. Getter Love!! is not worth attempting right now until I find myself passing KiC with flying colors whenever I start over with that, since the adrenaline rush you get from trying to keep your opponents down while promoting your own relationships in that game is a major distraction from actually deciphering anything that anyone says.
