On that note, Mom asked the other evening why I was spending so much time playing that game while waiting for Brian, instead of finding anything productive to do, and what I'd be doing instead if I didn't know he'd be coming home.
Right now, I would have liked to work on Starbound. However, while Jake is better at capturing the essence of Earthbound for the sake of that fic than Chelle and I are, he wanted some time to re-read the first two chapters first (after I established an account on The Fanfiction Forum and hosted them there), before reading what I have written thus far of the third chapter. Right now, though, he's got a lot of stuff going on in his life, and is likely too stressed out to deal with it (even putting some (cancelled) ideas aside that Stars Above had inspired in me).
Right now, I have zero inspiration for Cult, and I don't feel like working on Parasitic Trio either, after having just written a chapter for that. I do have The Web Game Developer's Cookbook to read, but I'd like to hold off on that until after I play and re-record Makeruna! Makendou Z for Jake to translate, and then start over with and spend some time with Angry Birds (both of which will only happen once we have the sound up and running on my computer). With that, I would like to read the material once, and then work on whatever I can for the Beehive Brigade game immediately afterwards while it's all fresh, not read the same book multiple times like I have with Japanese in Mangaland. That's why I want to have the other things on my agenda cleared before I get started with that.
(Speaking of Japanese, I also have been meaning to ask Mom to help me look into buying some new books to continue with. That's just been slipping my mind, is all.)
In any case, Brian started having a look at my computer yesterday afternoon, but encountered a problem regarding an activation key that we seem not to have. At some point, he decided instead to download Windows 7 onto it (it's been running on XP up until yesterday). Hoping he's more successful with it from there, but if not, either of us might have to buy a new installation disk online. If it comes to that, I'll see if Jake's in the mood to read and discuss Starbound; otherwise, that will likely be the time that I play Rockman & Forte while waiting for a new disk to arrive.
