May. 4th, 2014 06:27 amIn fact, if I had such an epic budget as I'd need, I would commission for a full-out animation of Starbound itself!
-Myself, in the description for Rokuna's first hived image.
So far, I've completed my second draft of Starbound's fourth chapter not too long ago, and have a basic idea of how chapter 5 will play out. Chelle, however, is not really inclined right now to read such an extensive amount of text, so I'll probably ask her again once I have a first draft of 5 written up.
In the meantime, she did give me a pic from minitokyo each of Miyuki, Kagami, and Konata, edited so that their hair is updone. I wasn't that crazy about Konata's hive (although I have already figured out what actually was wrong with it by now), but the other two girls' hives are so pleasing to look at that I've used them as makeshift wallpapers for the first time since coming home from New Jersey. Appealing as they are, though, there was still some kind of gratification I failed to derive just by looking at them.
I already ranted to Chelle about this just last night. But, get this, what motivated me to write the entirety of chapter 3 past its beginning, was that I was thinking about the possible Beehive Brigade video game, couldn't derive any satisfaction even when I combined their hairstyles with any other fetish, and then realized that what I really needed to combine with was actual events. I enjoyed not only showcasing Kagami's and Miyuki's embarrassment about their hair, but also how naturally everyone's lines came to mind as I wrote along.
Writing chapter 4, somehow, didn't have that spark. After all the fuss I made about coming up with some events for it, I hardly even thought about the girls' hair at all. Writing a certain battle out in particular (twice, no less) was a bitch.
Even though I do have chapter 5 planned out, it'll probably be tomorrow that I'll actually get started with it. Today, Mom's got some chores planned out for me, and it's hard to focus on a personal project when I'm probably gonna have to take a break from it to do one of them (or when we go to the gym for today).
On the other hand, I do tend to gain full satisfaction when looking at, say, Hiyori with her hair shopped up while walking with her friends through Akihabara. Or that print I got for Christmas, depicting her in a cute little bikini while she poses alongside Yutaka and Minami.
Realizing that, I've concluded that what I really need for full viewing pleasure, is just some kind of visual context, even if it's only a snapshot. Right now, though, I'm trying to commission for as little as I need, but while asking for entire scenes is likely out of the question right now, just figuring out what I really want is enough to satisfy me for now.
