Jun. 16th, 2014 06:15 amYesterday was Father's Day, and this year, Mom and I got Dad this book called Get Rid of Boat Odors. Since Mom's the one that actually paid for it, we decided that me vacuuming the car out could count as me paying for it through money she would've otherwise paid me.
I had enclosed those Numbers tickets behind the front cover of the book. As expected, none of them won.
The three of us drove down to New Jersey at around 10:30, to meet with Grandpa Bob, Uncle Robby, Cousin Adam, Aunt Allison, and Uncle Blas. Shortly after we arrived, Mom had me walk down to Wawa's to buy Grandpa a gas card for $25.
I then brought my laptop with me up to Adam's room to chat with Jake for a bit, regarding an email I sent him requesting ideas for dialogue. Unfortunately, he came forward and said would like nothing more to do with the fic I started yesterday, stating that his distaste for the Lucky Star franchise happens to be at its worst when combined with the fic's premise and specifics. It is a shame to have lost his support on it, given how helpful certain things he mentioned were (such as the fact that some schools in Japan require their students to remain in their uniforms even outside of school, which could be encouraged by Ryouou during my fic). Really, though, I can't say I blame him; knowing him, he probably honestly tried to care enough about the help I'd be needing, just like with Starbound, and came to realize that this fic just isn't for him.
Several others, meanwhile, were watching the FIFA World Cup that's being held in Brazil while it aired on ESPN. They watched Switzerland vs Ecuador while Mom and several others were making dinner, and then I saw part of France vs Honduras while setting on the couch after excusing myself from the dinner table. The others came to join upon finishing dinner themselves, and we also had slices of a lemon roll cake for dessert. Someone also brought a caramel brownie pie, which I helped myself to a couple of squares of after finishing my slice.
Contacted two people on DeviantArt who might be interested in helping me develop the fic last night; one shortly before we left, and the other before I went to bed after coming home. The latter had gotten back to me and asked what exactly I was asking for, to which I replied this morning that I'd like either help developing the fic or if he knows anyone who both liked certain pics of his and writes fanfiction themselves.
