Dec. 31st, 2014 06:25 amWent to various places with Brian and Marie yesterday.
In the morning, with Brian to this diner called Robinwood to eat breakfast. Ordered some French toast and ham.
Later, with Marie to this coffee shop where Jacob works, where she got some hot chocolate while I got a mocha. Found that I don't like mochas, and we traded drinks from there. Not too fond of hot chocolate either, but mainly because of how it scalds your tongue even when you drink it carefully while it's still hot. Me and Marie asked Jacob what the point is behind hot drinks if you have to wait for them to cool down, and he told us that it's heated up in order for the grinds or powder to blend into the drink.
She then led me to this thrift store called Boomerang's. Didn't see anything interesting there.
Shortly after returning to Brian's apartment, I had a convo with Jake. Upon closing it, I went quite a ways down Centre Street, reaching around South Street upon receiving a call from Marie. I then backtracked to her place, and sat down to relax and watched her roommate Chris playing Skyrim on his Playstation 3. I did mention that having one time watched my old friend Matthew play one of its prequels, Morrowind, on his Xbox, though I should have also mentioned that Brian used to play that, Tribunal, and Bloodmoon on our main computer back when he lived with us.
Soon as I was back up, the three of us went to this restaurant called El Oriental de Cuba. Got myself a cheeseburger there.
We then met up with Jacob, and went to this bowling alley called Kings, where we also met Chris's girlfriend Roonie. We got ourselves a pitcher of Miller Lite beer (I didn't have any), and the monitors showed these CG animations of Christmas characters pulling wacky hijinx. Me and Chris played by our normal names, but Roonie had hers abbreviated to "Roon", Jacob went by "Jro" (at some point which I joked could be the Japanese name "Jiro"), and Marie assumed the name "Madge". Scored a 121 and a 108, but Roonie had gotten some food afterwards, and we still had to finish what beer was left over before we actually left.

Jake had recently lost some expensive luggage during a trip he had gone on, and asked me if I could write a few certain things that he suggested. One of these would have been a Starbound lemon spinoff where Mondo and DavĂ ( Warning: Sexual content )
Started yesterday's aforementioned convo asking if another chapter of Parasitic Trio would also count instead, and he declined. Later in the convo, I explained that having brought it up had also to do with certain nostalgic experiences I used to have, experiences that fanfiction (and especially any that would involve all kinds of math on the side) could never have possibly substituted for.
Looking back, most of the flaws I listed are actually fairly minor. It is true that I had become frustrated with some of them while playing Diamond during the fall of 2011, combined with being unable to find a good place to stop playing until clearing the last of the Super Contests I'd be challenging, after which point I'd tackle the Battle Zone upon returning. I still intended to play Pokemon Battle Revolution and Pokemon HeartGold, Platinum, and White, until I showed Brian my outline for Parasitic Trio during our following visit to Grandma Barbara's, to which he suggested I just start the ficseries already after reading so many gameplay-like rules. Having discovered in White that I forfeited the Leafeon I won in Play to Befriend a Pokemon, which I thought would be reserved for me indefinitely, did not help.
From there, I did reduce my plans to simply finishing Diamond and playing partway through Platinum (mainly to determine a secret base location for May for the Sinnoh fic), but I had yet to scrap those altogether. I eventually would finish up Diamond the following summer, but learning how rigged the Battle Towers and Frontiers actually came as a real shock to me.
In any case, I still have several months before my next birthday to decide whether to reconcile with the series and request a Nintendo 3DS. If I do, it will only be because playing the actual games is still the only practical way to experience them (as opposed even to reading the player's guides). Having experienced the real thing, combined with certain fics Jake and I had discussed, was the only way its worlds and three certain characters grew onto me enough that I even could conceive any kind of fanfiction for them. I'll still have to deal with having already forfeited any experiences I could've had in Entralink Forest or the Dream World in Pokemon Black or White, nor will I have anything from the Gen IV games to migrate to the Pal Park, after having sold all my games. (And the one in Diamond and Pearl was the sole reason why I backtracked and played FireRed, Ruby, and Emerald after completing Pearl, although to be fair, there weren't any further games to play at that time anyway, what with Platinum still on its way here.)
With that, even though I wasn't inclined to continue PT last summer, I think I might give it one more try at some point and see if another chapter for Jamie rekindles anything. Perhaps when I'm all caught up again in Candy Crush, as I would still like to make progress elsewhere after completing the lemon (continuing with spritesheets, for one thing).
