Regarding the Madoka fic, I have taken the time yesterday to censor all mentions of the author's name in all entries dating back to May 1. Even in the chapter draft she sent me, she had credited herself anonymously, and she has reasoned just this morning that, while the subject matter had nothing to do with it, she doesn't want prospective clients to find it if they Google her name.
As to why she is unable to continue the fic, her primary reason is that I failed to specify how long I wanted the fic to be. Technically, that is true, as I had assumed it would be much longer than four chapters until I received the draft of the first one, initially titled "Entree" (now "Apéritif"). It was from that that I suspected it would be relatively short, which is what led me to bring it up with her, and it was only after that that she actually asked how long I'd like it to be ("[j]ust out of interest").
Here's what I specified for that:
Around at least twelve chapters should do. Good enough if you come close to that, or if you find yourself unable to expand the plot with anything but filler, but the longer you're capable of, the better.
She did also say, though, that having to edit stuff based on such in-depth criticism as Chelle tends to give (she hadn't actually given any yet, though) would make the project more trouble for her than she deems worth. That, I can understand.

I had already given the whole fic (only four chapters long) a read yesterday. Will need to re-read it again to mark down what needs to be changed.
For example, according to the story in question, Esurientes are normally invisible except to their intended prey. I have added a note myself to the draft before sending it to Chelle:
I know they're not established to have Barriers, unlike Witches, but if anything, their targets would be the ones they wouldn't want to be seen by (unless that's beyond their control, which would require some explanation). Also, Incubators are one thing, but as much sense as it would make, I'm personally against the idea of Esurientes being invisible to all bystanders, particularly because it would seem wierd to see someone either being gored (or even knocked down or lifted off their feet, disappearing partway at a time) by or running in terror from seemingly nothing. Furthermore, even if Esurientes are invisible, [any damage they'd cause within anyone's presence or within earshot thereof] would still cause some kind of panic.
Worse, though, is that I had requested among other things during our discussions, that all five main characters band together and defeat at least one Esurient together before any of them bite the dust. The author must have forgotten that, because Mami still gets killed some time before Kyoko shows up.

With that mentioned, I very much doubt I will be posting the story anywhere. Even if Chelle and I were to look it over, it would be awkward to change things so that Mami lives, especially when all the main points already were covered.
At the same time, though, I can't seem to decide whether I should commission someone else for their own version of things. I mean, all the main points were covered, and there doesn't seem to be that much else to do.
I mean, even though my own purpose of the fic was to showcase a different system where girls become fat upon making their contracts, and as many different girls themselves from canon as feasible, it's not like the anime itself was all about "Let's put girls through hell and turn them into eldritch abominations".
The point of Madoka Magica was to show how the system works, and each character had an actual purpose to serve. Of the Puellae Magi alone, Mami is the one who masquerades as a "hero of justice" and inspires Sayaka to become a Puella Magi. Sayaka is the one who believes she is fighting for justice in Mami's place, but gradually breaks down while she learns the truth until she becomes a Witch (which is her other main purpose). Kyoko is a foil to Sayaka, initially fighting only to preserve herself, but gets better along the way and destroys her own Soul Gem while defeating Sayaka's Witch form in order to die along with her. Homura is the reason Kyubey sees so much potential in Madoka as a Puella Magi. And Madoka is the one who ultimately changes the system for the better, once she learns everything there is to know.
Sayaka and Madoka (the latter only in past timelines) are the only Puellae Magi to actually become Witches on-screen, but this is where the manga spinoffs all come in: Same world and system; different locations, characters, and situations.
There is also The Different Story, yeah. Volume 1 of that is meant to cover a relationship between Mami and Kyoko that the anime never covered, and the rest of it is a what-if story in which Mami survives against Charlotte.
Haven't viewed any other installments in-depth, but everything above should get the point across.

As for everyone besides the main five, the only reason so many different Puellae Magi were showcased in the backstory of Stars Above and two spinoff prequels to that fic, was because of a vision had by Oriko Mikuni of a Demon so powerful that even the Witches Walpurgisnacht and Kreimhild Gretchen would pale in comparison to her. Author BHS actually had use for the ones mentioned, such as Airi Anri disguising herself as Inori Hiiragi and Yuma Chitose acting as "Inori's" adopted daughter in order to lure Kagami out of her college dorm before explaining to her what's really going on, although he did also throw in a name-only cameo of Komachi from The Hollow Little Mermaid.
(Having mentioned Yuma, it is also worth noting that that story was written before Oriko Magica: Extra Story, in which Oriko becomes friends with Yuma and even stops Kyubey from making a contract with her. In the original Oriko manga, she informs Kyubey of her in order to prevent him from contracting with Madoka, since she sought to prevent the emergence of Kreimhild Gretchen. In something non-canon, even if such events were irrelevant to the actual story, I do suppose that Yuma could still become a Puella Magi if, say, Oriko had visions of different matters from her situation.)
