Dad has recently been renovating the dining room ceiling. That's what we brought the rugs outside for recently.

Also had to order a new knob for our front door, since the latch bolt stopped retracting yesterday. He just received and installed it today, but last night, we had to keep the door shut with a contraption consisting of the attic latter, a small beam of wood, and a windup clamp, which we kept between the door and the kitchen pantry. (During the day, we simply used an andiron that we normally keep right outside the door.)

An issue has come up for Parasitic Trio, regarding Mega Evolutions.

To start with, when the concept was introduced in Pokemon X and Y, all viable Pokemon for them were within generations I thru IV. In the games, each of those Pokemon has its own mineral that it can hold onto in order to evolve (temporarily) in battle.

In other words, there are species-specific hold items in a region where most of those don't exist. One of those is Mewtwo, a Kanto-born legendary, and has two Mega forms to boot.

Upon discovering the concept itself, I came up with my own idea for PT, in which Ellen would seek a pair of orbs inside Cerulean Cave, only for Mewtwo to claim them first. While various battles would ensue between the mains and Mewtwo during the story, it is only in one final battle that he would actually use one of them (to be decided on a coin toss), while the mains win the other one upon defeating him.

Just today, I discovered that more existing mons have been given Mega forms as of OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Most of those are still within Gens I-IV, but also include Audino (Gen V) and Diancie (Gen VI and promotion-exclusive), as well as the Gen III legendaries Rayquaza, Latios, and Latias.

In any case, I'm starting to think that maybe being able to Mega-Evolve only one Pokemon that the three combined mains own would be rather wasteful anyway. Since ORAS, being remakes of Ruby and Sapphire, are set in Hoenn, perhaps the ability to Mega-Evolve Pokemon could be some kind of equivalent privilege for May to Jamie's PokeWalker. (Mewtwo would still have his own pair of orbs, since Jake asked me before not to have anyone capture him.) Whatever ends up replacing canon Mega Stones won't be Pokemon-specific, though.
